Worst experience with a car rental company yet, I reserved a $300 car and they didn't have any reserved for me, I still needed a car and had to walk out paying closer to $800. Buyer beware they will cheat you out of your affordable reservation.

I am a gold member and usually one can basically walk to the car and drive away. When I arrived at Santa Barbara airport I received a text telling me to stop by the desk and pick up my keys. That would have been great and, indeed, when I go to the desk I could see my paperwork behind the one guy on duty. Unfortunately, he was dealing with a customer and another was waiting for a different rental company. He proceeded to help them and ignored me at the Gold desk. 15 minutes later he looked up - probably because he heard me complaining to my wife, asked my name, checked my drivers license and handed me the keys. It took 15 seconds and did not inconvenience the customer who he was dealing with since she was deep into her paperwork and probably did not notice anyway. Hertz needs to educate its employees about this.

Very nice counter agents. The system was very helpful when I had to extend my reservation. No one hassles me about sticking to a little car or not paying for extra coverage.
