I'm only giving one star because a zero star rating is impossible. My recent experience with Hertz was easily the worst experience with a car rental company I've ever had, and I rent a lot of vehicles for work trips. I made a reservation a few days before my trip. I received a call from Hertz only an hour before I was to pick up my vehicle informing me that they didn't have enough vehicles. I was already on my way to pickup the car and so I ended the call and continued it after arriving at the Hertz rental location. There they told me that since they didn't have my vehicle class available I could rent another vehicle class at almost double what my reservation price was. I found this completely unacceptable as they had ample time to get a car from another location in order to meet my reservation time, and (if they chose not to transfer a car from another location) they could also just give me the free upgrade to the higher vehicle class, like every other rental company does when they don't have enough of the reserved vehicle. I found their approach to be very unprofessional and almost unethical. It seems they are more than happy to take as many reservations as possibly without making any serious effort to deliver on those reservations. Instead, they pass the risk onto the consumer who either has to pay far more than they expected or leave empty-handed. Since they only inform you of their lack of vehicles within an hour before your rental pickup, they seem to be forcing you into making this decision between no rental car and paying much more than anticipated, since one hour is often not enough time to make alternative arrangements. It seems their plan of action is to give their customers no choice but to spend more money or risk not making their trip. At this particular location there is also no real decision makers, you can't ask to speak to anyone who can fix your problem or make an executive decision that accommodates the customer, the only people you can speak to are low-level employees who seem more comfortable to inconvenience a customer than disappoint their superiors. As a result the customer service at this location is nonexistent.

So I chose the compact car option when I reserved my car online to get surprised they do not have the car I reserved. The employee tried to help and I wish he never tried to! He told me they have compact cars in a branch located 5 miles from this one so I took Uber all the way down there to get another surprise: ops, they had only a Jaguar which is of course out of my budget! Now, after I was out of my mind, they arranged me a Lyft drive to take me to where I was which wasted a lot of my time! When I came back, they forced me to upgrade since that was the only option and charged me double what I was supposed to pay a compact car. I will never use hertz again.

This place treated me as if I was the crook. I prepaid for a rental and because I was not there at precisely my "appointed" time, I was informed my rental was given to someone else...needless to say, I'm writing the CEO of this company for an explanation!!!!!

Idk why the rating is so low. I rented a car here and my experience was awesome! No problems and they are super friendly 💯

Poor customer service if your renting a car through your insurance they only want to give you a compact car even though your insurance pass for $35 and up a Day. When the manager arrived Caleb he was not dressed for work , he was not shaved had on shorts a ball cap and a t-shirt I said good morning to him he ignored me and went to the back then he came back out and couldn't really make eye contact with me and then say good morning such a very nasty attitude he seems to have his employees scared of him because they were like freezing up when he was walking up and saying my manager is coming and I told them perfect. I had to ask them to come outside to do a check on the car to make sure there isn't any dents or any issues with the vehicle they were no help because it seemed like the manager controls them like a puppet I'm very upset this morning with Hertz Rent-a-Car company that they would even higher someone who does not have customer service and does not know how to conduct himself with customers and handling a situation.
