The owner checked us in. He was cordial. There is a microwave and fridge. The room was clean and freshly painted, although you could tell the furniture had been here during flooding and not all maintenence was kept up. There was a huge hole in the light fixture above the sink, stains in the sink, nor all lights working,  door hard to open, etc..  I didn't expect fancy,  and it wasn't. 
He gave us the remote with the key.  They don't leave the remote in the room, even though it ONLY changes channels - no on/off or volume control. 
It was a bit overpriced for want it is. But, a lot of other places were fully booked. I would have stayed a second night, if I could have had a good night's sleep. However,  the bed is rock hard. When it comes down to it,  the most important thing about a room is the quality of sleep I can get.  We woke up sore and still tired because the bed was so uncomfortable. The thiness of the walls combined with the very noisy neighbors, didn't help. The police were even there,  after one guest was screaming and yelling for a while. After taking care of that issue,  they were pounding on doors to find the source of the pot odor they said they could smell.

RUN AWAY ! The people who worked there were friendly to me , however if I could leave zero stars I would leave -10 stars. The place is a dump. They obviously had flooding from recent hurricane and left the furniture in the room to rot. Everything was molded and falling apart. I left my bags in the car and we draped sheets over everything including the beds. We also bought Clorox wipes and Lysol and doused the room. I was very uncomfortable and I would not have stayed there had we not called like 20 other places, every where was booked.

I did not know places like this existed.  Absolutely disgusting!  The furniture was rotted and moldy, the lampshades were disintegrating and it smelt terrible.    Positives-. It is close to historic downtown, has excellent restaurants in walking distance and the staff was friendly.

Was beautiful building, seconds away from the historic city, great resturants across the street of every variety, rooms were nice and updated, clean, extremely hot shower, parking is convient with no charge, owner is a great man.
