J-Spec Auto is the largest JDM Engine importer in Richmond, VA. We are also a licensed Independent Dealer in Virginia and we sell 25+ year old cars imported from Japan!

Great company. I was dealing with a less than easy mechanic, but they were always very quick to reply, and we're as accommodating as possible. I'd be happy to work with them again (well, if I needed another engine, which hopefully I don't.)

DON'T PURCHASE A MOTOR FROM THESE CROOKS IF YOU CARE ABOUT HAVING A WARRANTY!!! I purchased a motor from JDM racing motors in Canada (who sourced it from J-spec). The motor clearly had issues with oil blow by when I first received it due to the amount of oil in the pre-turbo inlet, pooled up in the compressor housing, in the intake manifold, and carbon buildup on the intake ports of the cylinder head. 

I ran the motor for around 2 and a half weeks monitoring oil consumption and found that the motor was going through about a 1/4 of a quart every 200 miles. After that I drove the car roughly another 200 miles all but a splash of oil was left in the pan. I pulled over, topped it up, and within two more drive cycles the motor was seized.

Their warranty clearly states that the piston rings are covered under warranty as well as all other internal engine components. The person on the phone told me that it must have failed from running too much boost (it was monitored via a boost gauge, and never run over 15psi), then they wouldn't warranty the motor since I didn't have an oil pressure gauge even though there is CLEARLY no mention of needing one on their warranty page.

Bought my Ej207 V7 back in February and its been running for a few months now. These guys are tip notch and have great service and products. Highly recommen you buy her over alot of other places. Don't trust anyone in Miami or Canada for you Jdm motors.
