Jack Demmer became an Edsel dealer back in 1957 after selling used cars with his father since he was sixteen years old. Jack became partners with a friend in a South Lyon Ford dealership together in 1960. They sold Ford and Mercury product together until 1963, then moved to Wayne selling strictly Ford's. In 1969, the men moved into the building where Jack Demmer Ford still sits today at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Newburgh Road. In 1975, the location officially became Jack Demmer Ford when Jack's sons Bill and Jim joined the corporation that March and became business partners.
