Story

In 2011, while unemployed and job hunting, James Smith noticed there was a large void in the furniture industry for affordable, quality, and real-wood furniture. So he bought a $40 skill saw, some stain, and wood and built a coffee table in his garage. He listed the coffee table online and although that first table didn't sell for a month, orders started flowing in for dining tables, benches, night stands, and more. It was obvious people wanted solid, attractive, real-wood furniture at an affordable price. Smith quickly partnered with college friend James Eldridge to help meet the growing demand and James+James was born.

James+James' handcrafted tables, bed, barn doors, living room furniture, and more are built by hand by a small team of local craftsmen at our shop in Arkansas. We also offer a collection of furniture that is responsibly sourced and hand-finished onsite. Additionally, we offer a curated selection of rugs, lighting, and decor from across the globe.

We own multiple pieces of James+James furniture because we were so impressed by our first farmhouse table and bench (about 6 years old). They still look amazing and hardly show wear after constant use by our family of five. A few months ago, we took delivery of a James + James Vera Trestle table and chairs for our dining room. We continue to receive compliments on the look and quality of our J+J stuff. The team at the store was incredibly helpful in finding the right fit and color and actually suggested options we may not have thought of that turned out extremely well for our space. If you need great looking, solid furniture from an American company, you can't go wrong with James+James.

Love my table! Much better quality, price and look than anywhere else. Customer service was fabulous and helped me design the perfect table and bench combo. Will and Andrew delivery guys - drove all the way through the snow and were so helpful and gave me all the tips on use, care, and cleanup. Can't wait for all our family dinners and game nights. Super thrilled!!!

This is the type of shop where you come for the quality and stay for the kindness. James, and by extension his entire staff, are a fantastic assortment of skilled, motivated individuals. They are more than prepared to help find what you need and they'll spare no expense doing so! Its great to know there is still strength and honesty in retail, particularly in a small, family business like James+James! You won't find a more welcoming store of joy and helpfulness in the entire galaxy!

We had our beautiful pedestal table delivered this evening by two very nice young men. The table is beautiful and the delivery men were excellent. We recommend James and James to everyone. 5-6 years ago we had a beautiful table made and drove down to Arkansas to pick it up. We still love it as well. Thank you!

So in love with our new dining set from James & James! The table is the most beautiful one we have ever seen. When Will and Andrew brought it inside, we were stunned and so happy. It's always a risk to order furniture online without seeing it in person, but we really liked what we read about James & James and thought the furniture on their site was so perfect for what we wanted. So we took a risk, and it paid off immensely! We could not be happier. We looked all around DC and were not able to find anything as perfect and stunning as the expanding heirloom pedestal table and Elizabeth chairs we ordered from James & James. The whole process was so easy. Molly was incredibly helpful with questions before we purchased, and the deliver guys, Will and Andrew, were awesome. They were so patient with the process to get on the military base where we live and were so nice and fun to deal with. They even were kind enough to answer a few questions I texted them about the table after they left because the store was not open. They had great attitudes and amazing service. We will definitely recommend this company to our friends and family and can't wait to do business with them again!
