My husband and I went camping at this campground three years ago while our kids went to Colorado and we had a great time hiking and sitting by the fire it was so peaceful to see the falls. So we have decided to take the kids in a few months to this beautiful and peaceful place.

We camp here every year because we love it. Nicely maintained and just gorgeous. However, DO NOT drink the well water labeled as "drinking water". This year it made me incredibly sick. I filled my water bottle with it and drank it for 2 days. After day 1, I began to vomit uncontrollably. 24 hours later I began to question the water because I would always vomit right after taking a sip (and here I was just trying to stay hydrated). When I tossed the water and returned to drinking bottled water, the vomiting immediately stopped.

We love Jemez Falls Campground. It has nice sites that are well spaced out. It has tables, fire rings, vault toilets, water spigots. It's only $10 a site so it is a lower cost campground. You can hike to the nearby falls or down a ways to the McCauley Hot Springs (Warm Springs with little fish). We have stayed up there three times and have always enjoyed it. There are nice trees in the area. It's just really pleasant. (The one downside was a jerk lady who was running her generator for many hours each day. I can see running one for a couple hours but for 8 hours a day? Ridiculous, but that is not the campgrounds fault.) Nearby is the Valles Caldera National Preserve and many cool hikes.

A gorgeous place to camp. Close to several hot springs. Really enjoyed my stay here.
