History of Knudtsen Chevrolet

Clifford E. Knudtsen and his brother, Wayne G. Knudtsen, founded Knudtsen Chevrolet Co. on June 12, 1939. In 1958, Clifford’s son, Wayne, who had been selling cars for his father and uncle, succeeded Clifford as Dealer. Wayne purchased his uncle’s share of the dealership in 1972.

Wayne Knudtsen was the sole owner of Knudtsen Chevrolet until 1983 when his daughter, Eve purchased two percent of the company. Eve was at Northwood University studying Automotive Marketing, Economics and Management. In 1993, Eve, who had become General Manager, acquired more ownership in the dealership. Her brother, Eric, also became an owner in the dealership that year. Eve became the Dealer in 1995.

Knudtsen Chevrolet relocated from its midtown Coeur d’Alene location to its current location on I-90 in Post Falls in December of 2002.

In 2005, Eve and Eric completed the purchase of Knudtsen Chevrolet from their father, Wayne. Eve is Dealer and President and Eric is General Manager and Vice President.

Eve, Eric and Knudtsen Chevrolet continue their long-standing commitment to serving Kootenai County. Eve was honored for her service in 2006 as one of 66 dealers nationwide to be selected as Time Magazine’s Quality Dealer of the Year. Eric has served the industry as President of the Idaho State Independent Auto Dealers and as a member of the Governor's Dealer Advisory Board. Eve, Eric, Wayne and Knudtsen Chevrolet were honored to be recognized as the 2007 Post Falls Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year. Knudtsen Chevrolet actively participates in many civic and professional activities, particularly those that benefit the youth in Kootenai County.

Great customer service,l! Jayson (service consultant) and Ruby were friendly and professional and ensured that my 2 year old son and myself were comfortable while waiting in the customer lounge. They even offered a shuttle back home instead of waiting but i opted out of the offer. They had a separate room for children to play in while we waited for our vehicle to be serviced which was completely not expected. I was a first time customer, who after this visit will become a long time customer. Thank you.

Went in upside down and Wendy Green made sure we left in the vehicle we wanted. She worked so hard for our family. Dan in the finance department broke everything down for us as first time cr buyers. I love those 2 employees, they will never understand what they did for me and my family. Bonus had a pay room for my 2 year old, super comfortable accommodations. Great, Honest place.

Gosh, was so disappointed. I bought a nice used truck one month ago for $20,300. The transaction went well and easy. I liked the truck so much that I wished I had bought new. I called and told them that. They said, "You bet, we'll work it out." Only to find out that they would give me $5,000 less for my one month trade-in. Remember this was a used, not a new truck. That truck may still have been sitting on their lot today. I have driven their used truck for a few weeks and a few hundred miles and they want to sell me a new truck and discount the original purchase by 25% ! I'd understand me taking a 10% loss for my change of mind. But to profit from the original sale, the new truck and gouge me $5,000 (25%) on the trade-in ? Just didn't seem like they want a repeat customer. Oh well, I'll keep my used truck.

Our experience was not very good. We dropped the truck off on a Thursday (7/6/17) to be worked on and to have the oil changed, recall items, and few other standard things checked. We got a majority of the items completed minus a brake inspection (due to some loud squealing) and service work that needed to be done to the outside thermometer device because parts had to be ordered. So we re-scheduled for the next week. We showed up next Monday morning (around 10:30am PDT) and was told that the truck would be worked on that day but probably wouldn't be finished until the next morning. So the next day rolls around, we give the dealership a call around 1:30pm because we haven't heard anything yet, and were extremely surprised when they said that they hadn't even touched the truck yet!! In fact, the gentleman on the phone said he didn't even know that the truck was there! So we finally got the vehicle back that evening (because I had a road trip the following day that couldn't be pushed back) and the thermometer didn't get worked on because they 'ran out of time' and the brakes still squealed very loudly after we were told that they were fine and nothing is wrong. Then on my road trip, I was surprised with an awful squeaking noise coming from the cabin of the vehicle, which I later discovered was my seat. It sounds like something is loose or is rubbing against something in my seat, and my truck did not make this noise before coming to the dealership. Needless to say, I was not impressed at all with our experience here and will be avoiding doing any future work (warranty or revenue) with this dealership for as long as I can help it. I will drive to another state if I need to.

What a wonderful experience and nice group of people to work with from the sales people to the office employee. I got the car I wanted at the price I wanted. I will definitely be back If and when my needs change and I need another new car for. I will tell all my friends.
