Great bakery! The coffee was more of a dark roast with a good balance of earthiness and nut. Their sandwiches were great and the two valet items we had stole the show. One was the dozen little bite size things in the country, those were a game changer!

From the espresso and pastries everything was amazing. Lemon cake was on sale for 50% off, amazing deal!

Bumped into this very traditional French bakery downtown today while taking a walk from the office. I have been to Paris 4 times and let me say the layout, atmosphere authenticity and taste is at the same level. The choices are great, fresh tasting and great Customer Service. The place was full at 11.30am with folks enjoying coffee, pastries and baguette sandwiches. I like the Millvale bakery but as they have limited days now, this place is a goldmine, i will be back often

Everything here is ridiculously delicious! My personal favorite is the macaron aux fruits sp?, it's so good! I stop by any time I'm downtown and they're open.

The pastries at La Gourmandine are excellent, however the selection seemed to be a little low, even though I was here shortly after open. Maybe just bad luck, but I expected to see more options. Also, no macarons. What patisserie doesn't have macarons at the ready??  The space is decently organized, neat and clean.  Regarding the coffee, I know it's a bit snobby, but it's not a good sign when you order a cappuccino and are asked "small, medium or large?" they are always 8 oz so I can't rate the coffee positively, unfortunately.

Cute and small.  A great place for a coffee, absolutely wonderful pastry, or a filling sandwich.  Very chic.

I am really in love with this bakery. Great pastries and THE BEST baguette!. wish the downtown location was open during the weekends too.

I stop by whenever I am in downtown Pittsburgh! Quiche is always delicious, & I recently tried the Opera cake which may have actually been life-changing. Friendly staff!
