Had one of those rare occurrences where the menu [brunch] was so well-curated that we couldn't decide upon individual entrees. Ended up ordering [nearly-] one of everything and EVERYTHING --- including the cocktails --- were absolutely delicious! Space is bright, stylish, and UNIQUE [total conversation starter with pinball machines, beautiful bar, and at-table video games etc.] with a parking garage within feet --- and perfect for outings with friends we had 6 in our party. Obsessed. Can't wait to revisit.
Sally Ann’s is a very different kind of restaurant. You order at the bar yes, they have a full bar, tho it’s not prominent on their online menu or at a counter and they give you a number and you get your own after or soda, but your food and drinks are all brought to you and we were checked on often to see if we needed anything. My cauliflower Cuban sandwich and my friend’s French dip were wonderful. The French fries were truly amazing, tho. I’m so glad my friend got them. I’m very picky about my French fries and can’t stand the fries I often get at restaurants that aren’t crispy or flavorful. These fries might have been the best fries I’ve ever had. They had seasoning and were perfectly crisp. They were even good when they got cold, which almost never happens. The aioli that came with them was delicious, too. There are booths near the back that had games to play. I saw a couple playing Super Mario Brothers. Not sure what else they had. They also had some stand-up arcade games near the front of the restaurant. I highly recommend checking out Sally Ann’s. We liked the vibe and loved the food and service. Everyone was super friendly and the food is great.
My husband's spicy fried chicken sandwich was very good. My veggie reuben was a bit spicy but, otherwise, a bit bland. The latte was good. I recommend the vanilla over the caramel flavour. You can't really taste the caramel. Overall, it is a nice casual place for a bite to eat. They have a few retro arcade games which is really cool. The people working here are pretty friendly. It's the type of restaurant where you line up to order and take a number though
A cute hipster restaurant. Really good breakfast items. My breakfast sandwhich was one the best ones I ever had. Only thing that kinda stinks is their menu is very limited before 10 AM. You can’t order brunch items or alcoholic drinks before 10 Am. Luckily I came at 9:40 so I just needed to wait a bit to get my Bloody Mary. Most people don’t want a Bloody Mary before 10 anyways The place is like a walk up to cashier and order what you like and sit wherever you like. If you like being fully served by a server, then this may not be the place for you. I actually really enjoy this type of restaurant because I get what I want without having to wait for my server to come around! I really enjoyed their outdoor seating. Very clean. Very friendly staff :
I love the vibe. Very cheery, modern, funky and down to earth. Great food choices. HUGE bonus: they serve La Colombe Coffee! BUT I don’t like their ordering system. How about developing an app where I can place my order, have a kiosk at the table or have the waitress take it. I’m ready to order and standing in line behind someone who can’t make up their mind. The upside is the cashier was very pleasant and eased the tension I felt over this ordering system. Haven’t eaten yet but it felt like an awkward start to the meal.
First time here and I have no complaints. The website said that there is no need for reservations and we went on a Saturday at noon and we sat right away. Inside it's not big but it has a variety of seating options: the bar is pretty big to be a place that's open from 8am to 3pm but you can eat at the bar so that's not a problem, across from the bar there is a long high top counter with stools, then there are regular tables, more High tops for 2 people, and very cute booths. The atmosphere is a mix between natural materials and neon signs and a very fun disco ball in the center. The environment is very well thought and appealing. To order you look up the menu using the QR code on the table and then go order at a window; I found this a bit inefficient since I had to way 15 minutes to order and since they are using a QR code might as well let people order and pay through that but the girl at the window was so nice that I didn't mind. We order a breakfast bowl and a salmon toast, they looked and tasted great. I got the salmon toast so I can say that it was like nothing I've ever eaten: it was fresh and the cucumber completely erased the aftertaste of the salmon that can be off-putting for whoever eats it and the others. I've read that it is overpriced but I didn't think so. The only complaint is on the cappuccino: it was scalding hot and very bitter but that might also depend on the person who did it so I might give it another chance. Overall my first impression is good and I'll definitely go back.
We went for brunch and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is so fun the live DJ was awesome!, the food and drinks are delicious, and the service is great. We had quiche, avocado toast, fries, an espresso martini, Irish coffee, and spiced pear Bellini—everything was terrific! Can’t wait to go back!
My wife and I stumbled into here when we had an hour to kill in Pittsburgh before our 2:30pm walking tour. We had no idea it was a new establishment, the vibes and aesthetic just drew us inside - and we were not disappointed! The entire waitstaff was so friendly and helpful, perhaps the kindest waitstaff I've ever had actually. We just ordered two cocktails to sip on as we passed the time, and both were super delicious. We were there at a bit of an odd hour, so it wasn't too busy, but we both want to go back in the evening as we're sure the atmosphere would be amazing! Everyone should check this place out.
This place is so cute! I love a place that serves breakfast/brunch into the afternoon on weekdays. I had the Sally Ann's breakfast because I love a classic breakfast, and it was amazing. I don't usually like potatoes, but their breakfast potatoes were so nicely seasoned and roasted I ate all of them. The real star for me was the Espresso Tonic though. It's a weird drink that I have come to love, but this was the best one I have had by far! Highly recommend, will definitely be back
Breakfast had returned to downtown Pittsburgh after many years of limited options! Sally Ann's has filled a hole in the dining scene in downtown Pittsburgh. The Eggs Benedict is some of the best I have ever had. Beautifully prepared. The Hollandaise is nicely balanced. The Sally Ann breakfast is also equally as good. I look forward to enjoying lunch in the near future.
