We lived there in 1954 before being transfered to England. I attended classes with my dad for awhile when my mom was away. He was a navigator. We lived in an old apartment building on base, listened to music on the loud speaker everyday, and the noise from the airplanes flying overhead became a comforting sound. I still look up everyday to see the airplanes and helicopters that fly over. I love airplanes and their noise to this day.

Completed Advanced Nav/Bomb training here in 1958 in prep for B47 assignment to Schilling AFB, KS. Very fond memories of school & classmates. This was cold war time, U2, JFK, Cuba, & beginning of Viet Nam. Very exciting & SCARY!! Began B52 upgrading here in 1964, then to Castle AFB for flight tng.

Love seeing the 2 UPS planes that fly in over the week. They come in on final starting just before the CA-NV border, so in Pollock Pines, you can see them at about 9k feet. Pretty cool, too!
