As a whole I have always been very satisfied with the way service and sales has been there for me. Although I must say I was less than happy when after having my last service which included and oil change and 4 new tires and a suspension inspection along with the normal overall vehicle checks (leaving for Florida vacation) to get only about 100 miles into my trip and have the 0% fuel filter life displayed on my information panel. My first thought was how could that be.. Mathews just did the vehicle checks for my long trip ? Then as I progressed pulling my 16' enclosed trailer with 1 Harley full dresser in it. I noticed my fuel economy was only 10mpg.. this was out of the normal because I made the same run last yr with 3 Harleys in the trailer and usually pull my 31' toyhauler and average 14 - 16 mpg. I arrived at my destination and called a local Chevy dealer and made an immediate appointment to have the filter replaced.. $168 dollars later and a 3 hour wait I got to where I was staying and ahut the vehicle off. When I later tried to restart and travel elsewhere it would turn and not start (loose file filter gasket) the dealer came got the vehicle, fixed and returned the vehicle. Now the return trip without the trailer yielded 19 Mpg which is normal for non towing mileage usually experienced in many trips to VA Beach... I guess my complaint is the vehicle check was obviously not done and something else could has been missed causing a safety issue on this trip... that and $168 spent in Fla. If I'm not mistaken I receive a discount for this kind of maintenance and if not I would get the rewards points for spending this amount at Mathews... thanks for having this venue to state my frustration.
