This was our favorite campground in death valley (we saw furnace creek, sunset, Texas springs and stove pipe wells). the sites are nice and large and at 1800 feet above sea level it was noticeably cooler than furnace creek. Only downside is it's not close to the main part of the park but was nice and quiet

There is no shade in this campground. Clean facilities, good drinking water, the campground host was not selling firewood. Adventurous campers can hike up or down the wash located behind the camp.

Some of the best tent camping in DVNP. You don't feel crowded like you would at other campgrounds inside the park. There are dumpsters, running water, flush toilets, and even a sink to rinse out your dishes...great accommodations considering the isolation. Few tips: - Campground fills up by Friday afternoon in peak season. We arrived Friday around 4 PM and there was only a handful of spots left, a majority of the people, like us, stayed through Sunday. - High wind area. Be prepared for winds to really pick up. Talk to the host about weather conditions. It might be a good idea to use guylines on larger tents (we did and it probably saved our tent poles). - No shade, tent campers will be exposed to the elements. - If you need supplies, grab them at Furnace Creek or Stovepipe Wells on your way in through the park. - If you're only staying a few days it may be a good idea to plan out what to do and see. This campground is close to Ubehebe Crater and some AWD dirt roads up there, but about 40-45 minutes from Stovepipe wells. You may want to hit up a few spots on the way in to save from travel time.

Not much shade, but running water and flush toilets are wonderful this far off the path. Little kangaroo mice scurry courageously around the campfire site.

Great spot beneath the Lance Chance Range & the Grapevine Mountains to the east
