Morro Bay State Park has been my favorite campground for sixty years My dad introduced us to the park when I was eight years old. Over the years the campground has gotten run down, bathrooms and showers closed due to needed repairs, and those that are open are deplorable, sharing your showers with ants, spiders, mold, doors that won't lock, and occasionally cold water. At $38.50 - 50.00 a night it should be better, but unfortunately the powers that be have decided to continue to let the park go downhill. The hookups are generally always full, and the rest if the park is too in the summer. I am wondering where the money is going, certainly not being put back in this campground.

What a place! Situated in the midst of one of the most spectacular nature viewing areas, this state park is high on the list of our favorites. We launched our kayak at the free California state park launch site across the street from the campground entrance and paddled up the estuary past harbor seals, hundreds of pelicans, blue herons, egrets, and over a hundred other species of shore birds. Visiting the Bayside Cafe, steps from the campground in the marina, with views of Morro Bay, is also a must.

Needs a little tlc.Tokens for showers now not a good thing, the machines to get the tokens are out a lot of the time and you have to have small bills for them. Half the bathrooms are out of service and showers. Full just about every night a120 spaces where does all the money go if not back into the park for repairs?( Still nice)
