Very close to the FWY and a couple of convenient stores within a block. My family and I had visited Lego Land a few miles away. We were tired and hot. Upon arrival the room was not preconditioned. We needed a cool room to rest. The location had a Denny's which I thought was convenient. The parking lot was not that great. At $138 a night I believed it is overpriced.

This was a great hotel experience! Clean, comfortable, walk to dining and grocery store. Next to freeway, but you can't hear the traffic. 15-20 min walk/5 min drive to the beach and the quaint Carlsbad Village area. The owners/managers were AWESOME!!! I will be a guest here many times.

They took a picture of my driver's license when I checked in! I assume it is still in their computer and maybe in corporate computers as well. This is an invitation for identity theft. I will not be staying at motel 6 again as long as they continue this. 
The room was fine but I would rather pay more and stay somewhere else where they don't treat you like a criminal. Providing my credit card and SHOWING my i.d. should be adequate as it has always been. What were they afraid that I was going to steal or damage? 
Why isn't motel 6 honest enough to point out when the reservation is made that this will be required, and not leave it as a surprise? It is very disturbing. Disturbing enough that motel 6 is no longer an option for me.

When we arrived the staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is clean. There is a Denny's open 24hrs. next door--good too. The room was clean. great stay for the price. I recommend this motel.

I have been staying with Motel 6 Carlsbad for awhile and love the location and cleanliness of the place except that it could have been better if there was an extra staff at the counter. Having one guy trying to check in everyone where there's a queue can take awhile. Other than that, its perfect and I'm definitely looking forward to staying with you guys again.
