Since this is a lower priced motel there are many families with young, noisy kids running around until evening and up very early in the morning. Lack of parenting. Kids need their parents to teach them that other people in the motel may still be sleeping at 7 am since they're on vacation. Parents would yell directives to kids through their doors which they left open. The pool was full of noisy kids. The motel does shut the pool down at 9pm so the kids went inside and the place quiets down until they're up early. Since it's a dog friendly place there were barking dogs and a grassy area next to the pool where the dogs do their business. I had a nonsmoking room but there were men smoking outside my room and others. The queen bed was one mattress. Not comfortable. Was clean enough but had to wear socks on the laminate floor because it made our feet dirty, AC was a plus. It cooled the room well. TV was okay. Ice machine and vending machines available.Curtains in my room were broken and not attached properly so light shined through at night and morning. Also light came in around the door. No coffee maker but I always bring my own. Beach is not within walking distance. We had to drive everywhere. I guess I expected a little more sleep for $200 a night. We will not be returning.

Recently renovated furnishings inside rooms were a distinct improvement to this older construction building. Quite a good location, just a few blocks from South Carlsbad state beach and within walking distance of grocery stores, gas, and restaurants. Pool was clean and inviting. Rooms are small and amenities limited but what really made our stay exceptional was Vanessa at the front desk. She let us check in early, accommodated a room change request due to extenuated circumstances, and overall provided friendly, helpful service. Made all the difference between a mediocre visit and a pleasant one. Got a decent night's sleep and the kiddos enjoyed themselves.

I was SO pleased with our stay at Motel 6 Carlsbad South. We had stayed at a Casino Resort the night before and I was worried that the accommodations would be similarly disgusting.

When we arrived, the room was half the size but 10X cleaner. We were floored. Obviously a budget choice with small rooms  -- but we felt safe, comfortable, and the accommodations were clean. We were so grateful to have booked the following 3 nights there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The rooms were small, but the IKEA-style furnishings for the size room made it feel modern and fun. We were grateful for the great cleaning service. We loved our stay and would stay again in a heartbeat.

I was very pleased with the Motel 6 in Carlsbad. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The AC was noisy, so we left it off most of the time. We were only there at night and left early in the morning, so I did not mention it to the office. The outside appearance of the motel was good, but the sidewalks and walkways need a cleaning. I greatly enjoyed the the location and the price.

It is with great pleasure that I can submit this review for your Carlsbad Beach location. First of all I would like to commend all your office staff on their professional attention to detail and outstanding customer service. I wish I could stay at this location everyday I am in the US. I especially want to mention one member of your office staff in particular, Ms. Yesenia. This young lady is the perfect example of how an outstanding customer service Representstive should be. I have many many years dealing with numerous hotels and motels within the US and especially in California and it is my pleasure to commend Ms Yesenia on standing out as the very best Customer Service Representative I have dealt with so far. If every business had employees like Ms Yesenia, there would never be any customer complaints. Outstanding job Ms Yesenia.

  I would like to add that Emily the Manager runs a tight ship but you can see the respect and admiration her staff has toward her obviously because she is a skilled talented experienced Manager who is capable of setting the example of a high degree of customer service and guides her staff to achieve it.
