We had a great experience here and the staff is very accommodating. An employee, Sing, was the most helpful. Upon check in the room on the bottom floor did have flies and gnats but upon returning to front desk to report it and change rooms, he was VERY helpful. He was very sincere and apologetic and happily switched our room. He personally went with us to the new room to ensure that it met our expectations and that there were no issues, which was a great comfort. The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean and the shower was great. We left behind our daughter's favorite stuffed animal, Seal, that she has had since she was 2. We were in a total panic and worried that we would never see Seal again. We were still in town but on our way out so I called the hotel and the clerk who answered was not helpful at all. She said there was nothing she could do and that I needed to speak with housekeeping the following day. I explained that we would be out of town by then but she still refused us any help. Upon asking her to please check the room she refused. I asked if Sing was available and she said he would be coming in to work in about 45 minutes. So we went to Denny's for a bite to eat and we went to the hotel to speak with Sing. Once again he was most helpful and very willing to accommodate our request. He has a wonderful demeanor and is well suited for a career in hospitality. The girl working before him could learn a lot from him. He did not hesitate to help us. He checked the system and noted that there was no one currently in the room. He then walked me and my daughter to the room and allowed us to look for Seal. We found him! It was all very exciting and such a relief. It truly made our day. My daughter was ecstatic as was I and Sing was overjoyed to see us so pleased and he too was very pleased to have helped us. The rate here is very affordable and the state of the hotel was very pleasing. For the amount of money we were paying we kind of expected much less and were very surprised to find that this hotel exceeded our expectations. We didn't get a chance to swim in the pool but we are definitely going to return and make this Motel 6 a permanent place in our trips to Williamsburg. The staff that was there in the morning were very pleasant as well and we are especially grateful to Sing for being such a spectacular employee. Thank you Motel 6 for providing with us with such a pleasant home away from home and for all of your help!

I was disappointed right when I checked in, the price was changed from $88 to $103 without my knowledge. I am 20 and my fiance is 22 so we checked in under his name since you needed to be 21 and the front desk gave my trouble about using his ID instead of mine even though I called weeks ahead and asked if this was allowed and was told this it was. Then, the manager said since there were two people staying the night it would be $103 instead of $88 but I had two guests on the reservation the whole time. Then, we finally get into the room and it looked pretty decent. However, when I took my shoes off at the door and walked to the bathroom and back, the bottom of my feet were black. I wetted a towel and mopped the floor and it was also black. It was absolutely disgusting and it's a shame I felt the need to wear shoes during my entire stay (two nights). I went the use the bathroom and their was still toilet paper in their from the guests before, the toilet was also clogged. I called down to ask them to fix this and they came a few hours later. This motel is also pretty sketchy, while we were by the pool there was a man, clearly on drugs, yelling at us from a few floors above. I felt uncomfortable walking anywhere on this property. The rooms seemed to have been renovated within the past few years so it looked similar to the pictures they have online which was nice, but cleanliness was lacking considerably. I won't come back here, the room was just too dirty for me to ever be convinced to come here again.

The stay was great. The water pressure was amazing! The shower was great! The bed was great! The lighting in the room was okay. I would've liked to have a couch in the room. I also would've liked to have a hair dryer attached to the wall like other hotels/motels because if there was one I couldn't find it anywhere. The staff was very friendly and helped in any way they could. The outside was sorta horrible and needs some work done to it. They over charged from what we booked it for. We booked it for a lower price but when we got there they charged more.

I would give it 2 1/2 stars, so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. My room was clean and not too small, though the bath mat I used to wipe up water on the floor turned sort of black. I was glad that the room did not smell of smoke, but had to hold my breath walking outside because people were smoking just outside the doors. I hesitated going out one time because of a big dog standing outside my door, and some of my neighbors walked their dogs in the strip of grass right outside the door while others appeared to be homeless people. No breakfast, just coffee. I understand the cost-cutting benefits, but think they could probably get the small shampoo bottles for less than 25c each, and the limit of 2 soaps didn't bother me personally, but would if there were 2 couples somehow sharing the space. My own personal space was fine; I'm not complaining about it, and it was nice to have the Outback Steakhouse a 2 minute walk away. I liked the pool, too. But the outside looked more than a little iffy -- yellow tape on sidewalk because of a broken light above made it a little difficult to enter the office from my room -- I didn't encourage my husband to stay because I figured he would take one look and leave. What's the saying, don't judge a book by its cover? Well, it's a fairly decent book, nothing special, with a raggedy cover.

There were lots of roaches. Went out and bought my own roach traps. I figured by the time management did something, my stay would be half over. Besides, I felt others must have complained, so he already knew - and didn't solve the problem. I didn't want to argue about it. My last two days there was no hot water. I thought it couldn't just be me, so others must have told the office, especially women with kids..Manager said that no one complained, and he takes a shower every day. Why would I want to take a shower with him? He just wanted to argue and do nothing. The blanket was full of cigarette burns - holes. It was the worst motel I stayed at in since the 1970's.
