Being here for the first time is delightful and very good lighting and if your hungry after all the walking, you can sit down and have a drink at the cafe area on the second floor- Adults pay $18.00 I recommend you be rested and be ready to walk a lot but it’s worth it.... It’s a multi cultural visiting museum so you won’t feel left out. So much history to see here’ you can literally stay for hours- I recommend good company if you don’t want to be alone. The cafe is reasonable food prices, I believe below 10.00 depending what your getting’ they have bagels, cakes, teas like earl gray, etc. they sell pizza coffees etc. if you want to get out the house this is a nice place to visit starting in the opening time and have the rest of the afternoon for you.... enjoy

Fantastic spot, we go often, so much to do, kids and adults are totally taken by the exhibits. If your looking for some non cliche gifts for out of town friends also good gift shop. Cafe on the upper floor is good, and not frighteningly expensive. The coolest thing for kids is the city buildup room, you can build a park or street or building and it shows up on a big screen and by standing in Certain places you appear in your city. Really well executed design. Go. Now.

Very cool museum! My nephew loved the interactive portion. I thought the guide was joking when he said the "Most Interesting Stairway" was that way, turns out it was pretty interesting lol. The history of New York City is one that connects worldwide and thought there was a lot to take in. One day wasn't enough to really grasp the depth of the museum. Plan on coming back soon!

I recently "discovered" this place and can't figure out why I didn't know it before. Each room is curated with care, interesting, and visible. Such a mix of choices....silver, fashion, political, architectural - and a really interesting movie in the lower level. Plan on more time than you expect - an hour is NOT enough time.

Absolutely AMAZING! I would recommend to anyone, free for teachers/educators. The exhibits were recent, relevant and powerful. Diverse exhibits! You will not be disappointed if you attend this multi level museum.
