It is located north of the National Mall at 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C.. The Rotunda entrance is on Constitution Avenue, while the research entrance is on Pennsylvania Avenue. A second larger facility, known as "Archives II" (or simply as "A2"), is located in College Park, Maryland.ExhibitsIt holds the original copies of the three main formative documents of the United States and its government: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. It also hosts an original version of the 1297 Magna Carta confirmed by Edward I. These are displayed to the public in the main chamber of the National Archives, which is called the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. The National Archives Building also exhibits other important American historical documents such as the Articles of Confederation, the Louisiana Purchase Treaty, the Emancipation Proclamation, and collections of photography and other historically and culturally significant American artifacts.

If you're a little legal nerd like me the hall holding the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and original Constitution. The architecture is amazing inside the hall and the elevators are gold with detailed engravings of the Declaration of Independence. The security Guards were so cool and easy going but thorough with checks. The Vietnam war exhibition was a highlight although won't be around forever so check out one of the most "misunderstood wars that America has ever participated in" Heaps of information available after the security check station when you enter the foyer and there's wifi too.

We liked the National Archives, were not a fan of the camera policy. Also, the no-line line in the main room was very confusing, and people would look at the documents for far too long while holding conversations.

The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are here. No cameras allowed. Soak up history within these walls filled with historical documents, photographs and items which helped shape America and Americans as we know it. Live the gift shop. Reminded me of the movie National Treasure. Lol.

Great palce to learn more about the history of the country, the bad part is that they don't let you take pictures of the declaration of Independence but still an amazing palce and is free.
