This a very large, pleasant park with a lot of variety. We started by using the exercise equipment, which is pretty simple but fun. There is also a well-maintained running track. There is a small dog park area. Went down to the water, which was pretty gross and had a lot of glass/trash. The rest of the park was nice, including the WWI Memorial Shaft. I think Orchard Beach/Hunter Island is the nicer side of the park for walking, but we drove to and reviewed that part separately.

Excellent place. Superb attention to detail. Lovely art deco murals. Secluded but accessible to all major highways. Loved it!

I would have given it 5 stars , but the trails definitely needs a full blown garbage clean up/ trail maintenance and tree sawyer... Birders delight, multiple species on any walk/hike. Abundant sea/salt and migrating birds.

Contrary to popular belief, Pelham Bay Park is the Largest Park in NYC , enough said , it host an array of wild life and nature to help you get lost for a while , if you choose to do so. It even has the grand Riviera of the Bronx as well, Orchard Beach, which is where I was,when these photos were taken. Be sure to take a day when you can and get back to nature.

Amazing Natural beauty, American revolutionary war Battleground and Camps. Great hiking trails on the water. Off the beaten path. Never crowded . Go to Bartow Pell Mansion and look for the yellow trail to the waterfront.
