Love this place. Relatively short and simple menu, which I like in general, that they do really well. The pork and fried chicken are the highlights to me. The brisket is fine but not a highlight IMO. Lots of side choices and all are pretty good. Restaurant has a bar. Nothing fancy but not a barbecue dive by an means either. Service is generally good and friendly. To me, the whole hog pork is what really makes this place though.

The BBQ was fantastic. Our new favorite BBQ in the triangle. The pig whistle sauce was some of the best sauce I've had! The atmosphere is also fun and good decor. We will definitely be making this a regular stop!

Had lunch here one Saturday. We weren't very hungry so we got just one sandwich, the brisket and a side of chicken and coleslaw. The brisket sandwich was delicious! Love my brisket fatty and this was the right mix! The 'side' of chicken was humongous! A large chicken breast with the wing! I loved the coleslaw too, it reminded me of coleslaw I used to have years back on another continent! My only problem was the restroom, atleast one of them actually, the floor was unfinished and looked wet and dirty. I'm not sure if that's a look they were going for but it just made it look dirty! They should also have a trash bin next to the door to throw the paper towels! All in all the food was really good!

Fabulous, fabulous. In my neighborhood but I would still drive for it. Cute bar, great service and amazing food. Best collards I have ever put in my mouth! Pork is moist and tender and fried chicken is “amazing.” Very casual vibe, fun outdoor seating. Parking can be a little tricky at times but well worth the effort. Big plus they are open on Mondays.

I’ve been here about 6 times in the past year. Usually the Pulled pork is fantastic, but it wasn’t the other day. Almost felt like it was 1 day away from being thrown out. Starting to turn to Pork Jerky. Best Hush Puppies in North Carolina! Slaw is always very good! Today I opted for the Mac n Cheese today and was very disappointed. Never again will I get it again. Picnic is a great place to eat and I will be back!
