I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. I took a trip from Brooklyn for QM. It's worth a visit if you happen to be in the area or passing through but not on its own. Three exhibits were under construction. That left little to comprise more than 30 minutes of a visit. The NYC Panorama is amazing but I could not believe that a member of staff was actually vacuuming the model with headphones on while I viewed the piece. Also in one of the other exhibits, a woman was ranting at the top of her lungs. When I looked over, I realized that she was a member of staff! Even the cafe was closed. All of this was in the middle of April, FYI. Sorry, Queens, but you have a ways to go I'm afraid.

Hidden gem in Queens. Underestimated art space. Suggest price to enter, friendly staff. Nice place to spend an hour or so. Then, hit the park.

The outside of the museum has been beautifully designed to catch your attention from even when you are traveling through the Grand Central Parkway. The museum charges a 'suggested' fare so that is a nice little perk that hits you immediately as you walk in. However, I came during a bad time. Besides the iconic Panorama exhibit, which should want to make you go inside just for this exhibit alone, there was only a few small exhibits left, because a significant portions of the other exhibits were under construction. One of the exhibits was literally trash on display. How is that art? Perhaps I have an odd art taste.

That place has lovely and amazing art and sculptures, so come on down and take photos, but don't touch anything just look and take pictures to show your friends and family.
