This is a great place to bring a date in Astoria. This museum is filled with the history of moving pictures and includes lots of fun artifacts and interactive exhibits. I personally love the section that shows what a sports director has to do to focus on all the quick action from a sporting event. There are old video games you can play also although I haven't been there in a while so I can't speak to the wear and tear these systems are enduring. You can be in and out of the museum within 1-2 hours and i'd recommend going on Friday's when admission is free from 4-8pm.

Outstanding! I took my honors intro to film class for a tour. They loved it (as did I). Wonderful artifacts. Exceptional interactive experiences. If you have an interest in film or television history then the Museum of the Moving Image is a must. Highly recommend.

Fantastic museum! It delves deep into the film making process, showing the roles and responsibilities of people involved in making a film, from the cast to the technical and artistic crew. The exhibits are easy to follow and read so even the most technical aspects of film making did not feel overwhelming. The exhibits on Martin Scorsese are a great introduction to the life and artistic genius of the famed director. They also show the history of motion arts, from vaudeville to live theater and broadcast television. It was a delight seeing vintage equipment used in the past and how the technology has evolved over the years. The museum has a nice shop with a lot of interesting books and gift items. It's pay-as-you-wish every Friday evening. The people working there are friendly and helpful.

A beautiful and unique museum. Very interactive for kids and adults. Special exhibits are great, Mad Men, Chuck Jones, Jim Henson were fantastic. This is so worth the trip to Astoria.

So interesting to see so many new and old technologies. It has a few interactive areas and that really made the museum more fun. Amazing props and special effect pieces. I would definitely go again!
