This is a review for Red Wings shoes themselves, not the store. The store is great, aside from the woman on the weekend (the owner's daughter) who will close early if it's a football Saturday. I experienced this after riding my bicycle all the way from Eugene to Springfield on a Ducks Saturday, only to find it closed down 3 hours early. The Hairdresser next door told me the daughter leaves early sometimes, with no warning. VERY inconvenient! That said, this is mainly rating the shoes and the shoes are far more shoddy than the price begs them to be. I got tired of spending $25 every 6 months on Wal*Mart shoes, having their soles split with every other season, so I decided to spend $150 on a pair of 'good shoes' from Red Wing. 51 weeks later, both of the soles have split like a Wal*Mart pair and they cost $100 - $150 to resole... Wal*Mart Shoes = $50 a year Red Wing Shoes = $125 a year You do the maths.

I always heard great things about red wing boots but my experience was the exact opposite. The soles on my "American made" boots came apart the first day I bought them. Then when I went to have them re-glued they took a month and a half to get them back to me. They told me that they were getting sent to red wing to get resoled that's why it was taking so long. Then I get a call six weeks later from shoe doctor in Eugene saying my boots were ready to be picked up. Then I pick them up and it looks like they just super glued them back together because they came apart literally thirty minutes into my next work day. So I took them back in and this is when things got worst. When I got the boots I paid $60 out of pocket and my work covered the rest. They were $180 boots. Now I had a new job and he said because of this he couldn't do anything about it because I didn't pay for all of the boots myself. He took told me the best he could do was give me $60 off a new pair but if they got messed up he wouldn't fix them. Mind you this is all 2 months after I got them, 6 weeks of that being re glued. He said I must have been "abusive" to my boots. THEY ARE $180 WORK BOOTS. Aren't they made for work? I'm a pipe fitter not like I'm out in the weather tearing them up. I will never buy a pair of their boots again. Mainly because of the horrible customer service I received.

Make sure that you go on the weekday. The weekday customer service is very good. If you go in the weekend you might get a young woman with curly black hair and her customer service is terrible. She's very rude she won't measure your feet she won't help you find products.

Clerk was very informative and friendly. My husband loves his new work boots and I got some tennis shoes for work. They are the most comfortable work shoes I've ever owned.
