Bought a $200 dollar pair of leather work boots about 6 months ago. Walked in, told them what I do and asked what boot would fit that requirement, which is pretty rough on any boot much less leather. They made their reccomdations, I accepted their advise, and was very happy at the quality of the boot and their insole reccomdation. 5 months in, the boots gave out and they took care of the warranty. 1 month into my new boots and still happy. More importantly, due to my line of work, my boots are waterlogged, splashed by acids, caustics, grime and other crud. Most rubber boots like xtratufs give out in 2-3 months for me. These stood up to 5 (with poor care on my part for the first 2 months). I came in about every two months for oil and grease and they were always willing to look and see if I needed to change my oiling/grease regiment. I will be purchasing my next pair of work boots here.

Bought a pair of $250 boots here and within two weeks the heels started separating from the sole. Not something Sedlaks can control but they wouldn't help me out with the repair. I'm in sales and I need my shoes. I chucked my old cheap pair of Fred Meyer shoes after I bought these so I didn't have a stand in pair to wear during repair. I came in and the front counter guy took them to guy in the back who said it would be about 30 minutes to repair the heels. I asked if I could reserve a time slot in the next week to come in and get them worked on but they weren't willing to work with me at all. They still wanted me to drop them off a day before hand which I couldn't do. I'm from Eugene and not even from Corvallis so it would be tough. I'm a nice guy I didn't make a scene, I didn't yell, I don't curse, I'm understanding and direct and told the guy that the solution they had wasn't going to work and if they could just help me out on this unique situation. The kid had nothing to say but shrug his shoulders. I could even see the guy in the back texting on his phone, I mean sure he could have been texting in between work, it's his shop he can do whatever he wants but cmon. What's the point of buying local when they don't even help you out when you need service? It sucked. I ended up getting Sole Saver in Eugene to repair them same day in literally less than 10 minutes for $8. The woman who works here is great but the kid really needs to be replaced.

I'm going to start this by saying that I've lived in Corvallis for about 7.5 years now & only discovered this place a few months ago. I got a really nice & very expensive Gucci belt for Christmas but it was too big, I'm kinda a little guy, lol. I took it into this business to see if I could get a couple holes added so it would fit me. They suggested to just cut & shorten the belt instead. Naturally, this kinda frightened me, it being such a valuable item. I trusted them & left it there for about a week. When I picked it up, they had done a fantastic job. It literally looks like it came from the factory at that length! I took it back in yesterday, as I had discovered a design flaw in the belt & needed a new hole added. Additionally, I asked if there was a way they could put a metal ring or eyelet into the new hole to prevent the design flaw from happening again. I was expecting to leave it for a week or so again to get the work done. Nope, he did it right then & there & I walked out with the belt fitting better than ever! In closing, if you EVER need ANY LEATHER WORK DONE, go to Sedlak's, they are AWESOME!!!!

Besides the fact that the prices at Sedlak's are up there, which on its own isn't necessarily a bad thing, the shoe repair they offer there is sub-par. I brought a pair of boots in for a re-soling, and they lasted maybe 6 months before the glue started to peel away and the soles started to fall off. When I brought them in to be repaired, they said it would cost another $36 for them to fix it because it didn't happen a couple of months after they were fixed. A couple of months?!? Please, I'm fairly sure they just did a terrible job to begin with. They do have some excellent customer-service there, so I'm not giving them one star, but even that's hit or miss. Some of the employees treat you like they don't want you to be there, and some of them go out of their way to help you find the perfect shoe (or boot) for you. Hopefully you come on a good day.
