I didn’t have a problem with their customer service, everyone I met was great and very helpful. Only issue, I returned some items and while I was walking around, an employee was hanging clothes up on the rack, turns out she was hanging up the exact shirt I’d just returned & it was the only one in the store. Went back to check the bin I put my returned clothes in & the shirt was gone! Seems like they don’t actually dry clean the clothes once returned, actually pretty gross.

Great place to try on clothes and accessories and check out new looks. Nothing beats RTR for formal events. Their color coded racks are filled with all the shimmer one could hope for in a variety of sizes. I really loved the ability to try on and rent jewelry and handbags. They also have pretty good personalized service. Of course, they can get busy like everyone. Only critique is the dressing rooms are poorly lit, with only the mirror supplying light. Hard to judge looks when you're staring into the only light source.

Great place! I did this for a formal dress and it really worked out well. The dress was true to size, the staff were helpful and attentive and I was out of the store in about an hour! My suggestion is to plan ahead. It may take you a few tries to get the dress right (i got really lucky) so definitely shop online prior to give you an ahead of what's available. Do take the time to weigh both just in case. Sometimes things you see online won't be in the store so call ahead to save yourself a trip. You can also look online to see what's in that particular store as well. Lastly, bring heels (or whatever shoe you'll wear with your dress) it's helpful to see the height or style while your in the store that way you can get a true feel of the entire look. They even have accessories up for rental which is nice as well! I didn't get a chance to utilize that but maybe next time I will. The shipping process actually really surprised me at how smooth it was. It came in a nice little bag and was at my house in just 2 days! Returning was simple too. I love fairly close to the store so I dropped it off in person but you can mail it as well. Hope this helps anyone that was on the fence about this service! I was skeptical at first because I've never done something like this but I'm glad I did!

I chose to try Rent the Runway to save time and avoid going to multiple stores in search of a gown. I reserved a gown a month before my event. The week before I was contacted and told that my original gown was no longer available but they would be sending me another gown that I had selected as a backup. The day before my order shipped I was sent another email stating the backup was no longer available and I need to select another replacement. I spent an hour on their website searching for another gown that would be appropriate for my event. Selection was limited at that point because it was so close to my rental date. I did find another dress and believed my order would be on the way. They day my order was set to arrive (day before event) I found out that due to a snowstorm in NY my order would not arrive until the next day. I then spent more than an hour on hold with customer service only to be told that they would not be able to help get another dress. I do live within driving distance to a RTR store so I asked about speaking with a store rep about what gowns they had in stock before I drove to the store (1.5h away). I was told that the store does not have a phone line for customers to call in! I therefore decided that it was not worth the risk to drive down and still not have a dress. I then has to rush all over town to find a dress for my event. UPS delivered my gowns from RTR an hour after I left for my event in a dress that I wasn’t 100% happy with. This morning I spent even more time on hold with customer service to request my refund. Rent the Runway is not worth the time or money. I understand that the snowstorm was outside their control but the lack of customer service was unacceptable. I attend formal functions regularly and will never again use their service.

Ordered my dress two months early. Two days before my event they told me they didn’t have it anymore. Sent me a couple of replacements - still annoying but ok. Supposed to ship out on a Wednesday and get here on a Thursday by 8 pm. Accordingly to UPS, didn’t even SHIP until10 pm. On Friday at 5 pm, still nothing. I called and was on the phone for 1.5 the evening before my event. The lady had no idea what she was doing and gave me a selection of what i could have. Everything i chose she said “oh wait that’s actuallt not available” i was collectively on hold for about 1 hour out of the 1 hour and a half i was on the phone for.
