Story

California's scenic Gold Country is the setting of Sierra Skies RV Park, a resort quality campground in beautiful historic Sierra City. Open seasonally from May 1 through October 31, and located off of Hwy 49 with easy access to I-80, the park is situated on five acres of the lovely Yuba River, and features majestic mountain views and plenty of mature shade trees. With a good selection of spacious RV sites, Sierra Skies will become your restful and relaxing vacation home, with a convenient online reservation system that will make planning your trip a breeze.

Private access to the sparkling Yuba River gives campers ample opportunity to enjoy water-based activities, such as swimming, boating and even panning and dredging for gold! Fishing on the river is excellent, and yields numerous species of trout and for the more experienced kayaker, the river has challenging class 5 rapids and whitewater for your enjoyment. The nearby Pacific Crest Trail, part of the Tahoe National Forest, features rugged trails for seasoned hikers, as well as easier walks for leisurely strolls, all bringing you face to face with the flora and fauna of Central California.

A short drive to Sierra City's Main Street will reveal a historic old Gold Rush town at the base of the Sierra Buttes, with original structures dating as far back as 1871. Quaint shops and charming cafes are at your service in Sierra City as well as in the nearby town of Downieville, established in 1849 and containing some of the oldest architecture in the region. With all of these great historical sites, stunning landscapes and a host of amenities, Sierra Skies RV Park is the perfect base camp for your next central California mountain vacation.

Best little RV park in the high Sierras with fishing, swimming and gold panning along the N. Yuba River. Family friendly, mountain bikers' destination - well maintained with laundry, bathhouse and wireless hotspots on site.

My husband & I are planning a major vacation in our Motorhome this coming June. We decided at the last minute to do a test trip to a destination that was not to far from Truckee to make sure everything in the motorhome is working. We chose an RV Park in Sierra City that I found on the Internet. Sierra Skies RV Park was a very nice and unique experience. Martly & Sheila, the Park Hosts are two very special, hard working, artistic folks. The Park was easy to get into, clean and right off the main road so that we could walk to town to enjoy a glass of wine at a restaurant that had the most beautiful garden surrounding a natural water fall and along with the camp hosts, walked and attended Sunday services at the local historical church. Great weekend, can't wait to go back.
