We had a big group go up for a work camping trip and we were very happy with this place. Pros: Very spacious and spread out. Lots of area for kids to run and play. The bathrooms are nice, warm showers. Lake is beautiful, fun for kids. Ski Lodge was great with games and space. Loved the pool and play area. Cons: no personal camp fires. They host a camp fire on Fri & Sat nights. Camping without your own fire is not really camping to me but hopefully the pros make up for it. Map could use some updating to figure out what is where. Really didn't like the fact that you couldn't hang a hammock or anything for that matter from the tree. We didn't know and had some up for the kids and they made us take them down. Overall great place! We'll be back.

Snowflower was the first RV park we stayed at with our new travel trailer. I would like to go back to experience more, but we had a great time while we were there. We stayed at one of the spots nearest Snowflower Lake, but I would like to go up to the further campground up the road next time. The people were great and it was very pretty. It is nice that it is really close to surrounding lakes like Lake Valley Reservoir, Sterling Lake, Lake Spaulding and more. I would recommend!

Beautiful location, older and rustic but fairly well-maintained, great staff. 25 minutes from Truckee.

This campground is actually in the Stanislus National forest and offers some of the most remote camping one can ever experience. Most people do not appreciate the true beauty of this campground when they only come for a weekend but this campground offers some of the most incredible beauty that you can find anywhere in the Sierras. There are numerous alpine lakes and reservoirs on the property and in the winter there is snow play and cross counrry skiing and even a skiing hill for snow skiers. The campground is very big it takes about 20 minutes just to drive through it. In Racoon Lake you can watch the trout for hours as they jump and frolic in the waters. Or if you hike the other side of the lake you can climb to the top of the granite mountain and see for miles. All this primitive beauty and yet you also get water and electricity at your campsite and a huge lodge with satellite tv and pool table, shuffle board, and swimming pool. On the upper campground loops you can get all the San Francisco tv channels as well as cell phone service and internet via t mobile.
