The service was ok, the server could have checked on us a little more and didn't get one of the orders right. I ordered the fish and shrimp combo with Mac and cheese and collard greens.  The meal was good except for the Mac and cheese was very salty. There was also a live jazz band and they were very good , but it's loud in the dining area where they play. Just some small service and consistency improvements could be done.

Everytime I am in the NJ/NYC area I visit this restaurant. I found it looking for a liquor store while visiting my God brother in NJ. I think the food is really good and reasonably priced. The service is a little bit slow. (I will not make any additional comments about that). On the train from Manhattan to NJ as I type this review. First stop "Southern Comfort" then my God brothers house.

Food was tasty n Hospitality was very good. Beautiful cozy n warm atmosphere. Very clean. Celebrated my cousins Brooke n Stevie Baby Shower there......will definitely recommend n come back again. Everyone loved the catfish fritters.....perfect place for lunch or dinner👍

After Leaving a place with horrible service that we walked out on last night. Me and my husband decided to come to southern comfort. Great choice we made I must say. The greetings from the owner and staff were on point. We were seated right away owner came to the table with cornbread. Right after the waitress came and took our drink orders and shortly after our food order. We had the buffalo wings as a appetizer and our meals were the catfish and shrimp combo and drink was the long island ice tea. Everything was great will definitely go back. The dj was playing house music and the atmosphere  was great. Great job guys keep up the gd work and we will see you all soon 😊😊😊

I had a veggie platter (collards, potato salad, black eye peas & baked mac & cheese). I don’t eat salt, and I tasted it right away...the food was really salty. When I was chewing the collards, it was a taste that they were not cleaned all the way, the psalad was cold and sweet, and I don’t eat cold potato salad, the peas were salty and the mac & cheese, well...). A friend raved about this place. It was an experience. I try to support the black business. I did....We as black people to take better care of ourselves. We have to either eliminate or use less salt. Salt doesn’t always make your food taste good. There are other spices that can be used to make food taste better./great. Let’s not always take to cheap ways out to make money.  “Cooks cook to Nurture People”
