Terrible how chairs and furniture is removed to prevent people from having a place to keep warm. Is it an issue if having to pickup or clean up after others, is it because those who frequent the Starbucks there that utilized the space to keep warm and to use the wifi were not capable of giving the baristas the tips they believe they deserve. Now all that has happened is that the lack of chairs and furniture provide no place for paying and tipping customers a place to sit. Why am I going to pay for overpriced coffee and tip workers who can't even provide shelter for less fortunate people, and as it turns out, for those of us who work for a living. If the homeless situation is the issue, I would say hire someone who is responsible for managing the situation, cleaning, etc I see the tips that are afforded to the workers there having one more employee there who makes 20 to 30 dollars an hour to maintain cleanliness there should not be a problem. The lack of seating in the down town area is already ridiculous, and now Starbucks. Good riddance, and don't blame it on the virus. This is a selfish decision...
Great location and maybe that’s why it’s too crowded. Baristas were nice but coffee was mediocre. There weren’t many chairs to sit on either and the floors were kinda dirty.
I enjoy my time here, most of the time. I'm sad that their hours are reduced and they close at 8 right now due to staffing shortage. These guys need new staff pronto, their napkin and trash area was a complete sty, with trash peeking out of the top of the counter. I understand that isn't their fault when it's as busy as it is, they can't make drinks and clean when orders keep coming in.
Honestly I’ve never had as many bad experiences at a Starbucks. They consistently make the drinks wrong whether you go in and order or place the order online. We’ve started going out of our way to get coffee at different Starbucks locations.
Having a medical condition I need a public restroom fairly often at times and struggle to find one downtown. I stop at this Starbucks often because the staff is friendly, understanding and always make sure my orders are perfect. My go-to coffee shop in townFood: 5/5
Placed mobile order, was supposed to be ready in 10 minutes. Waited 20 minutes in store past the 10 minutes, finally had to leave, no drink, out 5 dollars. Customers who walk in are prioritized and were getting their drinks. Baristas only call out the mobile orders once and then you have to keep flagging them down to get status. Will never go to this store again. This isn’t the first bad experience but I thought I would give them another chance. Never again.
I used to work for this location. Let me tell you it has gone down hill. No longer a welcoming place. The new management staff should be fired for the lies and the backstabbing behavior that they have engaged in. End the union busting store manager or enjoy your sleep at night.
This is a quick review since my group only ordered drinks and quickly left. However I can say I was thoroughly impressed with their speed and efficiency! It was a very chilly Light Up Night and the first time I believe I've visited this location. You could see from outside how long the line was and we hesitated on going in, but were pressed for time before the next Christmas tree lighting event. Once inside we realized the line, which practically began at the door, was moving along. It appeared to split up ahead and the one line was thankfully for people just using the restroom. As we inched closer I noticed perhaps 6-7 people furiously working behind the counter, including the manager. They took and called out completed orders in the same way as any other day and never appeared agitated or worn out. I'd be surprised if we were there longer than 15 minutes for our two venti mochas. As we left a delivery man pulling two carts full of milk gallons arrived, proving just how busy they were. Very impressed, good work team!
Thank you Bri for the wonderful creation of a GREAT drink and being patient with a unoriginal customer Kai was also great and patient as well I'm sure I'll be back for another
I enjoy popping into Market Square every time I visit home. Contrary to another review, I truly appreciate the fact that this Starbucks does not automatically remove people simply based on guesses of their housing situation. It's not hard to be a nice person! I applaud Shai in her ability to navigate rude customers blatantly discriminating against other humans. STARBUCKS IS FOR EVERYONE. Thank you Shai and Market Square Starbucks Team for doing what is GOOD for the Pittsburgh community.
