Our family loved STILLWATER Campground. The view was something out of a fantasy novel, and my husband, myself, and our young daughters thoroughly enjoyed walking all of 10 feet from our tent and into the refreshing water. The staff was so lovely and incredibly helpful. The bathroom and showers are well kept and the showers are FREE..unlike some sites. We only have two minor complaints. One would be that there aren't trees, so there's little privacy and no shade which can be difficult with children. The second is just to inform you that once every day for about an hour or so the wind picks up and will rip your tent apart if you don't have a tent with a high "wind factor". When we return, it will be with a tent better equipped to handle the strong winds. That being said; we will absolutely be returning.

Love the campgrounds but Steve the manager makes me not want to return ever again!!!! Over this past weekend my boyfriend and I planned a romantic weekend stay at the campground. We were late on a check out time because I was feeling very ill and payed an extra half a day for the inconvenience (although there was no reservation the next day at our site and the camp was 75% empty!) So at that point we had paid 40$ for not even 24 hours of being there... but that wasn't good enough, Steve walked up on our campsite looking in our tent (luckily I had just put clothes on!!) and starting shouting at us, even after I told him we were leaving shortly! HE CALLED THE COPS ON MY BOYFRIEND AND I BECAUSE OF A LATE CHECK OUT!!! He was so rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional. Stricter check out times than the holiday inn... I loved that site so much but Steve left an awful bitter taste in my mouth, truly hope he is not there when I return next summer... sadly one star for Steve.

Loved our experience here. Hosts Anna and Steve are the best we've ever encountered ever, anywhere. They helped us tremendously our first night ever camping in the mountains. Gave us advice on where to go and what to see as well. We will definitely return if we ever come this way again. The bathrooms are clean and the water is warm. Great views all around.

A decent home-base campground for checking out the West side of RMNP (when all the NP campgrounds are full). Close to the quaint town of Grand Lake, which is worth a visit, and has some nice hiking trails. The campground has no shade or shelter from the wind: and the lake gets very windy in the afternoons. Host said he sees at least a few mangled shade canopies in the dumpster every week. Free showers and RV dump site are nice bonus.

The scenery was beautiful. However, the campground host was right across from our site and he was extremely rude the entire time. The first night we were there he came over as soon as we pulled in and started getting onto us. Later on he came over and told us we were too loud and that he would call the police on us. There was a large group of us but none of us wanted to cause trouble so we shut down everything and went to bed when he told us that at 10 o'clock. By the way we were not drinking or yelling or being obnoxious in any way. The next day he came over and told us that he had several complaints about us at 2 AM which was impossible seeing as we went to bed at 10. And if he looked at our camp site he would have seen we were all asleep in our tents. Another time he came over to yell at us about pouring water into the grass. All of us felt like we were being harassed the whole time we were there. We will not be coming back.
