Story

Matt and Darian Kinney have purchased The Sunshine Goldmine from long-time residents Peter and Paula Mulbarger.

Darian worked with the Mulbargers for eight years, learning the trade and managing the business. She was fortunate to be able to shadow the owners in all aspects of running the store and the transition in ownership has been smooth and seamless.

The new owners were born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho and their dream has always been to raise their family here in this beautiful landscape. The opportunity presented itself to become local business owners and they took hold. They are thrilled to keep Sunshine Goldmine alive, and know that by taking care of their community, they themselves will be taken care of in return.

Darian has had extensive training in the jewelry trade, including diamond grading from the Gemological Institute of America, giving her the opportunity to offer insurance appraisal documents.

Matt is has received training from master jeweler Peter ranging in simple repairs to custom fabrications and design. Please come visit their store to view the full selection of beautiful creations he has to offer.
