My daughter went there with severe pain in her abdomen. They saw her quickly and put her in a room, asking several questions and deduced they thought it was "female" related. They did do an ultrasound of her belly. They did not hook her up to an IV. (Which I thought was the first thing they do in an ER?) At one point the doctor came in, said they didn't see anything and asked her "What did you want me to do about it?" We both felt like because it was female problems, and not "real" problems, they just wanted to kick us out and get rid of us. They weren't busy, we weren't taking a bed that was needed by someone else - they just didn't want to deal with female issues. Going to an ER is not cheap, and our insurance is essentially non-existent (high deductible and doesn't kick in until it's paid - we do get the "negotiated rate" though.) So if we thought the pain was bad enough to spend the evening in the ER and rack up such a huge bill - the least they could have done is taken us seriously.

We just delivered our first child and couldn't be happier with the experience. Awesome staff of nurses! Each of them went above and beyond to make sure my wife was comfortable but Victoria in Labor and Delivery and Monica in the Postpartum unit were especially helpful. Thank you to all of the nursing staff for making our stay as comfortable as possible for our new family!

I went to the ER at this hospital for a broken hand. I am a retired disabled vet with a service dog. The first thing that I was asked is what does my dog do for me. After I explained that I'm a disabled vet, I was taken to the waiting room, where I was told I had to sit by myself bc of my dog. The staff made everyone move, which there was no need since my service dog is highly trained around people. The ADA should educate this ER on hire to treat people with disabilities. Later I asked to look at my xrays and I was told you won't understand them. How dare you assume that someone won't understand something. I was highly degraded, humiliated by these people at this ER. People keep writing reviews about don't go well believe It! DO NOT GO TO THIS ER!!!!!!!

I delivered here 4 and a half years ago and it was a terrible experience. My Dr and I had a birth plan and I fully planned on nursing. I was excited that my first nurse was a lactation consultant, because that MUST mean she's a patient advocate, right?? WRONG. She told me that the birth plan my Dr and I had come up with was "improper care" and she wasn't going to follow it. She pushed pitocin when I wanted nothing to do with it. When my epidural ran out, she didn't refill it, the next shift nurse did (that girl was an angel). After I had my son, the kitchen was closed (it was 845 when all was said and done), but they kept bringing me crackers and juice. Finally my mom got ugly with them bc there was no way they let every mom who delivered at night have to wait until morning to eat, so they brought me a sandwich. My son immediately latched on to nurse, but because my blood sugar was low, so was his, so what did they do? Stick a bottle of formula in his mouth. NO ONE came in to try and help me nurse. They fed me pain killers like candy and pricked his little feet every 3 hours and told me his blood sugar was too low and I couldn't nurse him. When we were discharged and saw his Dr, we were readmitted to Lake Pointe Hospital because they have a NICU, and they helped me nurse him and pump. Absolutely would never deliver here again.

So I came to the hospital for heart palpitations, dizziness, and numbness in my left hand. I entered with an armed police officer escorting me and was taken through a make shift entrance to a waiting room with another police officer behind the reception area. It should be noted that the doors to the make shift entrance locked from the inside and out requiring a police officer to allow you in or out of the bulding. THERE WAS NO MEDICAL STAFF TRIAGING PATIENTS. I put my complaint on a slip of paper that the police officer took through a door, and I'm guessing a secretary (No scrubs, no ID) came out, asked how I was feeling, gave me a wrist band, and left. Hard to tell if I was admitted, seeing as how nobody checked my vitals or took my insurance card, or even asked me if I was allergic to anything. I was taken to an unlit part of the hospital (I guess they don't keep the lights on in other wings, even though they're actively using them) to an empty room (which confused me, since they claimed they didn't have any rooms available) with a man who claimed to be an EMT who performed an EKG. Then the EMT proceeded to give me his interpretation of the EKG, rather than allowing me to speak to a physician about it. He then took me back to the waiting room. This is the most unsafe I have ever felt at a hospital. So I attempted to leave, but again needed to have the police let me and my family out. If you experience heart attack symptoms (or any other symptoms), do not come here. Its not safe.
