Story

The Bike Lane is a family owned full service bike shop with two locations in Reston and Springfield, VA. We sell and service all styles of bicycles. The Bike Lane has a great selection of mountain, road, hybrid, triathlon, cruiser, youth and cyclocross bikes. We specialize in Trek, Felt, Electra, Niner, and Surly bikes. We also offer a huge selection of cycling accessories. Many of our products are sold on online. The Bike Lane is well known for being experts in bikes fittings and having outstanding customer service. Our Reston location rents road and hybrid bikes as well as wheelsets and travel cases. We are often out sponsoring local athletes in community races and cycling events. The Bike Lane also hosts many classes and clinics, including monthly bike maintenance classes. Absolute great place to get into mountain biking. They have a very wide range of biker ranging from Full suspension Trek bikes to little kid bikes. Great range of accessories as well. Not to mention that if you buy a bike from them, you'll get free tuning for the life of the bike. 10/10 will keep revisiting for as long as I'm on my bike

Honestly the owner Todd is probably the most decent and honest owner in the business. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend anyone and everyone here. Prices are great and service is fantastic.

Lacks communication and trustworthy.

Brought my son's old Trek MT220 bike in to order a broken hanger for the rear derailleur.  That's the small 2 " piece of metal that attaches the rear derailleur to the back of the bike via a hex nut.  We were given a quote over the phone for $30.00 for parts and the installation will be done complimentary .  We were informed that our bike was in good operating condition.  So no tuning was necessary.  During the conversation, we specifically indicated that the bike is too old to worth any repairs more that the quoted $30.00.  When we picked up our bike, the amount being charged was closed to $50.00 (that is nearly half the price of the bike' s worth).  The part was $24.99 + $10.00 installation fee + $18.00 tuning fee.  I am not sure why this information was not provided to us before hand via text or email (they were able to text us to let us know that the bike was ready for pick up).  After voicing our concerns, they've reduced the cost down to $36.00.  Yes, $36.00 for a small piece of metal that worth $5.00 on ebay and requires the bolting of one single nut and one mounting screw.  It is hard to trust these guys with any verbal commitment.  We were also told that the bike will be done in two days.  It took them five.  The staff is quite nice, but the way the business is being run is not direct and up front.  Shadyyyyy.

The sales representatives are trained to help you at your whim. It's like they know everything about your riding experience. I have to commute on a rough sidewalk and they were able to have me test an array of bikes until I found my best match. I'm so glad I chose the bike lane instead of a department store bike!

Excellent customer service! My daughter and I came in late Sunday afternoon for her bike repair, and they took care of us on the spot, even though they were very busy. It turned out to be a simple repair and they didn't charge us. I was then happy to buy a $100 bike helmet for myself. We will return for all of our bike needs.
