We feature ingredient driven cuisine with Mediterranean and Southern influences.
Evoking memories of groceries past, the Grocery's menu displays a commitment to sustainability through Chef Johnson's relationships with local and regional farmers and fishermen. The restaurant also features house-made charcuterie and an in-house canning program, which helps preserve the harvest. For a communal dining experience, guests are encouraged to share the small and large plates on the continually-evolving menu.
The setting - orchestrated by Charleston architect David Thompson in collaboration with the owners, Kevin and Susan Johnson - provides an urban dining environment that is warm and welcoming while retaining elements of the structure’s warehouse charm. Mashburn Construction brought the plans to fruition, and interior designer Ginger Brewton also assisted with the project.
The Grocery seats 100 for dining and 20 at the bar. Additionally, a private dining room seating 22 is available for intimate dinners or special occasions.
