If you are looking for a memorable place to top a trip to Charleston, then this is the place. First make sure you make reservations since seating is prime real estate. In fact if you are required to wait enjoy a frosty beverage, or glass of champagne at the fully stocked bar! The bartender there is waiting and willing to serve you the tastiest cocktail. I enjoyed a whiskey sour, something I have not had since my younger days of drinking. Soon you are seated in the low light, romantic dining room. The menu is presented to you with a variety of tasty choices. This fat boy insists you try the apple grilled pork chop! It melted in my mouth and used a butter knife to slice it! Upon wiping your mouth from the attack of flavor you just enjoyed, a wonderful dessert is upon you. The banana creme pie was out of this world, but was not to be undone by the piping hot slice of deep dish apple pie, perfectly topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Washed down with a hot Irish coffee! Finally we are at the end of this culinary adventure with a tab, that was higher than average places, but this place is way above average! Average doesn't even scratch this place! I have to say that the beauty of Charleston is definitely enhanced by the time we spent in this restaurant. If you couldn't tell...I highly recommend it!

My favorite downtown restaurant. It's cozy, friendly and warm. Prices are surprisingly reasonable. Great spot for lunch. We always ask for Emily, who has been there several years. She cares. Walking distance from much of downtown. Avoid the trendy, overcrowded spots. Grab a table, sit back and RELAX.

The food is so delicious. I had the chicken and waffles. Chicken is amazing and it comes with a small fruit mix side. They give you cornbread with dinner. With is also amazing. We came back the next day just to buy cornbread to bring back to N.Y. Servers are very nice. We also had the apple pie. Soooo good! I will definitely return whenever I am back in Charleston.

Came here with friends for a late dinner and had a phenomenal experience. Our server Paul was outstanding in describing his favorites and the specials. He provided amazing service. Both the squash and the crab soup were amazing. Everyone loved their entrees - the lamb was the highest rated dish out of the group but everyone loved their meal. Highly recommend.

We had a reservation at 7:30 pm and we got there at 7:38, thanks to the parking facility in Charleston. By the time we were served the food it was 8:30 pm , which would have been fine if we didn't have a whining toddler along. Our server had the presence of mind to bring the side for our daughter before the meal, which helped with some level of whining. The food was good. The corn bread served on the house was absolutely delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the trigger fish entree and my scallops were perfect except for the last one which was gritty. Everything on the plate was perfect though. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for dessert. I wouldn't call the place kid friendly. The staff was nice but the patrons were snobbish.
