The Old Spaghetti Factory is a family owned and operated restaurant founded in Portland, Oregon in 1969 by Guss and Sally Dussin. Dedicated to satisfying dining in warm surroundings, the Orem Old Spaghetti Factory, established in 2003, is located at the University Mall on the corner of State Street and University Parkway. The University Mall has been a landmark in the Orem area for nearly forty years and features top retailers from around the world making the mall a shopping destination for all of Utah County. We went here for my son's birthday dinner. From the moment we walked in it was very pleasant! The hostess were very nice. Once we were sat down we had the most sweetest waitress named Melanie. She is hands down the best waitress I ever had! She was very attentive and polite. My son loved all the attention. I highly recommend coming here and hope you get to experience having Melanie as your waitress!

Extremely slow service so by the time the check came I just wanted to get out. I didn't check the receipt and on the drive home I realized we paied more than I had expected. Doing the math, we didn't get the free birthday kids meal we had told the waiter about when we ordered it like the coupon said to. I wouldn't have gotten a 1 year old her own meal except it was supposed to be free. I always knew the food wasn't good but as a kid I loved it there and went back for the memories. Not making that mistake again.

We came here and had the alfredo- the meat lovers- and the rich meat pasta- the soup and ice cream came with the meal. For 15 dollars or less per plate I thought it was priced lower than expected. Which means the meal was excellent. I remember in New York this same meal from another restaurant could easily cost me 30-40 dollars. With that being said it isn't 5 star quality but it is delicious. We also had the garlic bread which was tasty. I liked the food a lot and the price and will more than likely recommend and return.

I have loved this place since I was a kid. The food is always delicious and hot, the bread and salads are amazing and the spumoni ice cream is excellent. The reason I have given this location 3 stars is due to the staff. It seems like they don't care. We walked in and had a party of 5 adults and a baby. There was no one in the waiting room and clearly, many empty tables. I told the host we had 5 and would need a high chair as well, he told me, "With a party that size, it's going to be about a 20 minute wait." 20 minutes for 5 people in an empty restaurant? We just went with it and waited but we could hear the same host talking about how he got tan with some girl at the local pool. Then we got seated and our waiter, though nice, was unaccommodating towards my pregnant wife who didn't want a full size portion, just a small one. So he asked for a kids meal, he said no because he can't serve a kids meal to someone over 12, so we asked for a smaller portion and he said no, we had to get the full sized portion and just get a to go box. Overall the food is great and it's the reason I come back. The staff just don't seem to care and aren't the friendliest.

Our family with three small children loves going to dinner here. They have great service, a good kids menu, and great food for the adults. Our kids love the ice cream at the end of the meal. We rarely have to wait for a table, and during peak dinner hours there is often someone who makes balloon animals for kids. Overall, it's a great family location.
