A beautiful place for a day trip! The ocean views are stunning and the lighthouse is a wonderful spot of California history. A few things to note, though. It is a LONG drive out to the point. From the community of Inverness, it’s still almost an hour out to the point. Parking is VERY limited in the provided spaces. Plan on parking up the road from the provided parking lot and walking. From the parking lot, it is almost half a mile walk to the visitors center. And it can be a little steep if you’re not used to it. From the visitor center, there is the concrete stairs that go down to the lighthouse itself. The warning sign isn’t joking when it says it is a strenuous climb back up the stairs. It is! The point is that you should be prepared for this adventure. It is worth it. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who like history or the ocean.

We visited the lighthouse in a nice and sunny weather. Driving here is fun. However there was a mile and half long queue of parked vehicles. We struggled to find a parking spot. The view is good. Was too crowded when we went there. There are about 300 stairs.

I love history especially Maritime. Pt. Reyes lighthouse is easy to get to and a nice mini vacay from the city. Lot's if places to stop and eat along the way. Be prepared for a long walk down and up to the lighthouse. This lighthouse was put there for a reason... it's super windy and super foggy. Dress on layers! Check out Good Earth grocery store in Fairfax on your way back!

Definitely worth a shot! This is truly a gem in the middle of nowhere. On a really nice day, it's amazing to see the coastline and sometimes you might catch some whales passing by. Always look the weather as it might ruin the scene a bit. Bring food and water as it is quite somewhere interior from any store. Almost 25 miles away from the first store, plan accordingly. You won't regret! Go there! :)))

Been here back in 2012 it was amazing the view is breathtaking! It's one of those memories I will cherish I can't wait to go back to California to visit again
