Story

Torchy's Tacos started in 2006 with a mobile trailer, a little red Vespa, and a man with a passion for good food. The founder, Mike Rypka, left an executive chef position to chase his dreams by investing everything he had into Torchy's Tacos. With a new, experimental menu ready to serve but no mouths to feed, Rypka jumped on his Vespa and started throwing out samples in an attempt to draw customers to his trailer. Before he knew it, people were rallying beside the taco stand hollering, "damn these tacos are good!" and the Torchy's Tacos' legacy began.

We sat at the bar on a Wednesday night and the bartender was not very good. We had 2 drinks a piece and 1 salad so not a big order but had to track her down for everything and almost had to beg to get a drink and the bar was less than half full. We finally had the manager tab us out and he comped my salad which was not necessary but a very nice thing to do. Wait staff/Bartenders should know that if the customer is having to find you for you to serve them than you are not doing your job. I give the Mgr a 5 star and the Bartender a 0.

Get your Tacos! Great little place, with great flavor. Prices are reasonable, good portion sizes. It needed a good wipe down on the tables, messy around the drink area. All and all it was good.

If I were just rating the food, it would be 5 star because the food is delicious! The service, however, needs help! EVERY single time I’ve come here, my food wasn’t made correctly. I’ve always ordered take out and when I get home, it’s wrong. The manager has always done great with “making it up” but if things were made right in the first pace, it wouldn’t be necessary. Today, in as overcharged because the cashier said she didn’t know how to ring up the order the right way and she made no attempt to try. And once again, food was made incorrectly. I’ve gotten smarter and started checking it before I leave now.

Torchys has a big menu with a lot of super creative and fun tacos. I like that you can choose flour or corn tortillas for any taco. Some of the best chips and queso around. I personally love the green chili pork tacos, and my girlfriend's favorite is the republican - not many places offer a sausage on a tortilla. I love the variety of sauces to choose from, both mild and extremely hot. The food always comes out pretty quick. My only complaint is that I wish they would run the tacos through a warmer to melt the cheese. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it. All in all, a great taco place that also has a bar.

I could eat here every single day. A little expensive but as the old saying goes.. you get what you pay for! Always fun to try the special, there’s also a secret menu ;)
