Trinidad History Museum is the home of four historic houses and a city block of lawns and gardens right in the heart of downtown Trinidad.
Step back in time at the Trinidad History Museum, a unique complex overlooking the Santa Fe Trail. Enjoy four attractions all located on the same historic block. The adobe Baca House and Santa Fe Trail Museum are official sites on the Santa Fe National Historic Trail. Also visit the Bloom Mansion, a Victorian Mansion built in 1882. The Baca-Bloom Heritage Gardens, which are a Plant Select site, contain native plants, century-old trees, Victorian flowers, two vegetable gardens. Historic photographs, family possessions, and commercial goods on display evoke the life ways of early inhabitants of southeastern Colorado in the Santa Fe Trail Museum. Learn about Kit Carson, Mother Jones, Uncle Dick Wootton, and other colorful characters from Trinidad's past. The Museum Gift Shop features Trinidad T-Shirts, coffee mugs, postcards, pottery, soap, and books about local and regional history.
