Irving H. Tyner loved merchandising. In 1944, he pursued his dream by purchasing Smith Furniture Company in Ypsilanti. As demand increased, Mr. Tyner expanded by building a warehouse on Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti. The warehouse would eventually include a store front. In 1957, Tyner Furniture opened on Michigan Avenue. Fast forward to today, Mr. Tyner's family is actively involved in the business.
