Story

U.S. Post Office is a historic post office building located at Florence, Florence County, South Carolina. It was built about 1906, and is a three-story, sandstone and brick building with hipped roof Second Renaissance Revival style. A major three-story addition to the rear of the building was built about 1935.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Honestly one of the worst USPS places you can go. The staff is extremely rude, and the line is pretty much always at a stand-still. Avoid coming here if possible. For an example, I had a package delivered to my POBOX, and got an email notification from the USPS Telling me it was delivered and in my box. Went to the post office, checked my box, and nothing. Went to the front, and the post master came up and told me that they didn’t have a package for me. I tried to explain that I had and email from them that my package was here and supposedly in my box, but he got an attitude with me and told me that it’s not here and he’s already looked through everything they have. Along with he told me that unless I have a tracking number, then he won’t help me any further. So I went to my car, got the tracking number, and gave it to the post master. Suddenly my packaged appeared and he didn’t say a word to me during the entire time.

Trash location, with trash customer service, and trash attitudes. I've requested my packages to be held there twice, only for the first time the black lady with short hair to have an attitude about it when I tried calling to no answer, and it was on the postal truck. Today I went to retrieve my package I requested in advance because these people act so bothered by what happened before I requested 4 days in advance, they placed the package on the RUDE, AND DISRESPECTFUL SUPERVISORS DESK, only for her to not try and see why and hand it to the carrier. The blond lady was very helpful and apologetic and it wasn't her fault. It was the incompetence of her supervisor. The supervisor walks out and tries to tell me something other than the question I was asking, again, rudely. I asked how I could prevent this from occurring again since I'm last house on the route and she just shrugs it off. The lady previously assisting me apologized and i told her it wasn't her fault and the supervisor acted like she had something to add to that cause I blamed her, which she blamed herself. Calling customer service and contacting the post master since when I have to go there I'm hit with an attitude, or they lose my stuff. If i could review negative stars I honestly would. If you can't handle the public, especially someone with validity in their emotions, especially if they aren't flying off at you and causing a scene like they want to, get new employment. Your staff seems bothered by their job, and it's ridiculous. I've been in fast food locations with more professional staff, and more patience than these people. Thank you to the staff that doesn't take their bad day out on the world and try and find solutions for you, rather than ignore what you say, and act like trash people.

Usually I have good friendly service. Today after waiting in line for 20 minutes with only one clerk actually taking customers I finally got up to the front to purchase postage stamps. The clerk rudely told me I could either buy 100 or none. I said that was hardly fair-- I want 6, not 100. She rudely ignored me and tried to get me to pay for my one other item, acting like my desire to purchase stamps was resolved. I had to suggest buying 10 and 1 cent stamps-- she offered no solution at all. I also know she could have printed out postage, which would have been my next idea. However she never suggested any of this, just tried to talk over me and ring me up without actually giving me any help. Unacceptable-- imagine it this were a privately owned business!!

I arrived at this Post Office about 15 minutes before they closed on Saturday. I was impressed that they had someone at each register and someone who was asking the folks in line if she could help them with purchasing stamps or dropping off a package. I used to go to the post office several times a week about 10 years ago, and I have to say, it looks like they have improved in terms of customer service. They have more people and the people who are working work at a decent pace.

The Postman is not knocking on my door or ringing doorbell when delivering package. Just drops it on the porch and walks off. I hope nothing gets stolen from me during these Holidays.
