Worst post office I have ever been to. Line out the door (it was well after the Christmas rush), only 2 people helping customers. The 2 people didn't seem to know what they were doing as each transaction took FOREVER to process. I will not be going to this branch ever again.

I was expecting a package by the 16th and every time I tried to call I got some lousy automated response system. I finally got in touch with someone and im sorry but how hard is it to pick up a phone? If they can't seem to want to work I'll take the job.

Getting a Vacation Hold done correctly is almost impossible with this station... it's probably the carriers more than the whole station... still there's a big need for supervision to get things right... Also you ALWAYS have to wait in crazy long lines because there's not enough help... it's been that way for years... all around poor management...

In the 25+ years I've lived in the area I have NEVER seen more than 3 workers helping customers. 90% of the time I'm there it is only one person. Today there were 15 people in line and one USPS counter worker. The supervisor said his hands were tied. He had no "Trained/Qualified" counter workers. He wasn't able to help at the counter for fear of a union grievance. If you're in a hurry pick any other post office location other than the one on the square in Independence, MO.

I have lived within this Post Office my entire life. I haven't had any problems with receiving or sending mail from home and no problems when I needed to go insife to mail a package. Most recently I needed to sched. a pickup time to have a large Package RETURNED, I did that online! Worked out great! I always thank my mail person, if I'm outside when they come by. Thank you US Postal Service for job well done!
