Story

In a city known for putting up platinum food as well as platinum records, Nashville has a bounty of restaurant options, but none as unique, exciting and diverse as the sure-fire hit Urban Grub.

The menu features modern adaptations on traditional Southern fare anchored by fresh, daily delivered fish specials, oysters, house cured meats, and pit smoked savories.

Lovely evening with friends. Warm greetings by hostess and we were seated immediately. The waiters were friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were very tasty. Highly recommend the pork fries as an appetizer. The portions were large and leftovers we're boxed for us away from the table.

Really good. I still think the actual dishes could be a tiny bit more interesting. A good portion of the crowd can be a little of the "trying-too-hard-pretentious" type. But overall good, comfortable environment and good wine menu. The bartenders are always excellent! Location is awesome. Servers take really good care of you. Highly recommend☺️

I've been coming to Nashville for work a lot lately and have tried a lot of highly reviewed places. Most have been pretty good. This place was great. Nice selection of fresh oysters. The first taste I had of my shrimp and grits was one of the best single bites of food I can remember having. On the drinks side, they had good cocktails, strong wine selection and a pretty impressive selection of bourbon. Our group came really close to coming back on night two of our last stay.

Ambiance is nice and chilled. I had the opportunity to try their Billy's Hot Chicken "Tacos". Well, it was not a taco and I did not enjoy it at all. I take partial blame for not reading the description on the menu, but Urban Grub, you can not serve things like this and charge 15.00! The menu claims the chicken is on top of bunny bread tortilla. This must be a joke, right? It was literally 1 hot chicken tender inside a hot dog bun with 1 slither of caramelized onion on top. I could not believe my eyes! It was so late in the evening, I had no choice to eat it. I paired it with mac and cheese, and I must say, the mac and cheese was to die for. I wish I have taken a pic of my food. Service was good. Our waitress was nice and friendly. Urban Grub can't accommodate a party of 30 with a reservation late at night. Tables were not available. Would I eat there again? Maybe so, but for brunch because I heard through the grapevine the food was good.

If you are looking for a unique and elegant dining experience check this place out. One of the only places in the middle, TN area I have found that has fresh oysters and they are amazing. I had the lamb chops for my main dish and I have to say this was some of the best food I have ever had and the fact they have fresh oysters that are flown in just makes it that much better.
