Overwhelmingly incompetent. This is the reason why FedEx and UPS are doing so well. Even when they know it's going to be busy they do nothing to prepare for it. And when asking for something simple like "Stamps" they take forever!  I hope someone opens up a carrier pigeon service next door just so I have a faster option.

I just went to drop a package. The first lady who called to assist me was not friendly at all. I asked her politely if I could send my package the way it was or if I should do it using the ones they have available. She assumed that I was trying to be cheap and answered me in a rude manner. After I prepared my package I opted for another agent to assist me. Is so sad that every time I come to this location I don't have a good experience at all and if I am returning is simply because is closer to my house.

Second time I've had mail lost here. This was certified mail they lost this time, I was told I'd be contacted that day to get updated on what happened, no call. Filed a case the next day and was told I'd be contacted in two days, I had to call to be told by an automation system that it is resolved. I don't know what that means so I called the post office and they lady who handles this stuff isn't there and no one could tell me anything about the mail. I know what the mail is and it's time sensitive. Worse post office I've ever been to.

It would be nice if neighboring post offices coordinated their hours. Garrett Park is 12, Kensington is 1, they're all over the map, as if this was some sort of mom and pop operation instead of a national institution that expects to be relied upon.  I mistakenly went to Garrett Park, found it was closed already at 10 to 1, then drove like a maniac to Kensington, arriving at precisely 1 sharp.  An employee, a scowling fellow, was standing at the door to the inner chamber, and said under no circumstances would he let me through. He kept repeating 'we close at 1, we close at 1.'  I explained that this was an emergency, that I didn't have other options during the work week, and that it was precisely 1 sharp, not a second more, when I arrived.  He couldn't have cared less.  Others in the waiting area were saying "Cmon man, it's Christmas, let him in,"  but he was just hell bent on being a rude jerk -- and succeeded beyond all expectations.  I would urge the P.O. to work a bit on its service ethic.   I regret that zero stars is not an option.

I think it is a good post office. I wish they would smile more and were a little friendlier but they are very efficient and get the job done.
