We had our family reunion there and it was amazing. The food was great. All the free activities were fun except for the back 9 of the Frisbee golf which was very difficult and many areas were flooded. We lost 2 Frisbees due to the high weeds and flooded areas. After searching for nearly an hour we never found them. They do require a 10.00 deposit for each disc. Definitely, would ask for the upper level of lodging due to noise of people above you. Lots to do for all ages. Staff very kind and so helpful

So going in with the right expectations this place is amazing. It isn't the Stanley so don't expect that food, service, or beds. It is a great spot for families. There are a ton of activities, a lot of which are free. We participated in mini golf, tennis, chess, trail rides, and hikes all in just over 24 hours. It's a short drive to Rocky Mountain National Park or you can even do a 3 mile hike into the park. The staff is young but very pleasant and do try their best. We will definitely come back.

I just got married at the YMCA of the Rockies last weekend. My ceremony was at the Overlook Chapel, and the view was absolutely amazing!! My guests were blown away by the beauty of the scenery. My officiant, Greg, was also awesome and I recommended him to anyone looking for an officiant. My whole wedding was nearly perfect! So why did I only give 3 stars? To be honest, I was tempted to give ZERO stars based on the catering staff at the YMCA. They tried stealing my cake topper, that my husband custom ordered for us. Who does that?! Add that to the fact that I had to deal with 3 different catering managers throughout my wedding planning process. Each manager told me I would be able to keep my leftover food and instructed me to bring containers to take it home. Imagine my surprise when I was about to leave my reception and was told that I wasn't able to take the food. The staff told me they threw it out; what a waste! Although one of my wedding guests happen to see the food in the kitchen when trying to help look for my "missing" cake topper that had disappeared into the kitchen and never came back out.  Long story short, I had an amazing wedding ceremony and reception up until the staff dropped those bombs on me and had me leaving my reception IN TEARS on my wedding night!  I would still recommend having your ceremony here, but I would recommended having your reception somewhere else to save yourself the headache and heartache.

My wedding on 06.18.17 was absolutely perfect!!! Thank you YMCA of the Rockies for being so professional, and patient with every change I made. You guys really did make it easy for us. We had so many of our guests compliment the food that was served, the whole experience was spectacular. And that view.... the Overlook chapel wowed our out of town and Colorado native guests. I will forever recommend YMCA of the Rockies for events or even just to stay. My big day was magical!

Stayed in the Wind River Lodge for our family reunion. Very clean rooms and facilities. Know that there are no tv's or air conditioning in the rooms. A fan is provided and the temperature in our room was perfect due to the cool mountain evenings. Our food plan was from the cafeteria, 3 meals a day for 4 days. It's all you can eat. The food was not bad at all, but if you are expecting "restaurant quality", then you might be disappointed. Don't worry about the long cafeteria lines because they move very fast! There is also a buffet style restaurant and a Cafe, if you don't want cafeteria food. As for activities, there are plenty of FREE activities, as well as some paid activities, but the costs are super reasonable. Activities are for all ages. My 19 and 16 year old boys had a great time. They even loved the two story craft building (and they don't normally do crafts) so make sure you visit it during you stay. Lots of wildlife was seen, the atmosphere was relaxed and very quiet, considering there were about 1000 to 1500 guests at any given day during our stay...and a lot of the guests were children with camp groups. We would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our family reunion, and we'd love to go again with just our family of four. Cost for room with three meals a day was incredibly reasonable and you can't beat the beautiful mountain scenery.
