I have purchased things here before but was now in need of a cheap sofa, coffee table set and floor lamp.

I came in yesterday to purchase the coffee table  set. I verified that the item was in stock and paid for it while a warehouse person went to get it. While there I inquired about an advertised small living room set for $398. I was told they didn't have it in stock but could order it. I have done business with these folks before and know that cash and carry is the best policy so that was out of the question. There was, however, a small sofa for $197 that was cash and carry. I looked at it, agreed that it would probably work for me, and said I would return today to purchase.

I rented a Uhaul to pick it up since delivery with these folks is iffy. I arrived at the store, ready to purchase with cash and have the sofa loaded onto the truck. All of a sudden the price jumped up to $250. When I asked why the overnight $50 price increase I was told that the computer changes prices all the time, that actually it was a $100 price difference and the real price was $298, but since the price was misquoted to me the sales associate would give me a discount and bring the price "down' to $248, still $50.00 more than the price I was quoted.

I ended up purchasing the sofa anyway as I am on a budget and it will work for me. Not exactly high end but for a single person it's OK. However buyer beware here. NEVER do layaway and NEVER order anything. Come ready to buy and transport it yourself. On a brighter note, my floor lamp matches my sofa and end tables and that was priced as quoted.

Side note, the staff will ask you to post good reviews. I posted on HONEST one based on my experience today.

Bottom line: if you do business here know what you are doing and with whom you are dealing, don't expect high end top quality furniture because u will not get that here. If you want white glove delivery service, high quality, and good service go elsewhere. But be prepared to pay more too.

I will never in my life recommend this store to any one again. I and I feel terrible for the people I have highly recommended already. I put a couch on what i thought was "layaway". Only to pay it off and them not have the item. Then the salesmen that I'm speaking too say that I can pick from three other options. And when I come to a conclusion to pick another couch we go to the register and he gets to get me to pay an additional 120 dollars. Now I feel like I'm wasting my time mind you I also have my uncle with me who has a truck so we can pick up said couch that isn't even there. So I ask for my money back.... they offer me store credit... THE REASON I ASKED FOR MONEY BACK IS BECAUSE I NO LONGER WISH TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE!  So point being for a store that clams to be a "warehouse" , "cash and carry" and offers "layaway" didn't have my item after I've paid. I gave them CASH and did not CARRY. FALSE ADVERTISING AT IT'S FINEST!!

Was able to take furniture the same day I paid for it.. Great deals also.. Customer service was excellent

I purchased furniture at this store on October 28th, 2017. I was told it will take 2-3 wks for delivery. 3 wks into waiting, i went into to store for a refund and was told that their corporate office has to approve the refund. I was shown on my reciept a section where it stated that a min of 4 wks delivery is required for Layaway, I paid cash and advised them that the 4 wks did not pertain to me. After arguing certain point on the receipt the store delivered a love seat and tables from my order. It is now 5 wks, I still do not have my sofa and after speaking with someone in corporate I was told that the company does not have the sofa I paid for and that all sales are final and will not get a refund. That they will see what they can do for me and that I may select other furniture if I wanted to. As I check the terms and policies it states people who choose layway will recieve a full refund if product is unavailable. Once again I paid full price in cash and do not understand why I am not entitled to a refund if the product is not available. I am willing to have the store come pick up what they have delivered but I wpuld like a full refund so that i can go else where with my business.

I visited American Freight in Harrisburg yesterday to look at dining, living room, and bedroom furniture. I had a very negative experience. The sales tactics used were aggressive and had complete disregard for my expressed needs. From the moment I walked in, a salesperson approached me and started asking questions. I clearly and politely stated that I wanted to "do a circuit" of the entire floor and if I had any questions, I would let him know. He continued talking and I had to restate that I wanted to browse on my own first. The same salesperson approached me less than 10 minutes later and started asking very personal questions - "Are you looking for an existing place or a new place", "Where do you live?", "Do you live in a house?" I stated again that I wanted to look on my own. After he continued to ask questions, I clearly told him that I did not want to answer questions or talk, I just wanted to look on my own. Not even 5 minutes later, another salesperson approached me and started asking which items I liked the best. I expressed by dissatisfaction with their sales approach. Shortly after I left because I felt very uncomfortable. I recommend that salespeople LISTEN to what customers are actually saying. The company lost my interest and business.
