We put in a reservation to rent a 12 passenger van today. We are planning an 18 day trip this summer and wanted to give this van a test excursion. We had plans on taking our 5 kids to Wright Patterson Airforce Base. 

My husband just went to pick up the van only for him to be told that the previous person renting the van decided to extend their rental. No van for us. Why did Avis not call my husband to inform us? Why did Avis not find another van for us? Why didn't Avis honor our reservation?

I am extremely livid right now. We will be contacting people further up the chain of command about this. You do not tell someone you'll have a vehicle for them and then not have it. 

Not only do we not get to try out the van, we now don't know if we can trust Avis to honor any further reservations.  What if we were leaving for that 18 day trip today? We'd be out of luck. 

I now have 5 disappointed kids and an angry husband.  Way to make a great first impression Avis!!

We always rent from Avis in Heath, Ohio. Rick, at this location, is wonderful! He gives us outstanding customer service every time we rent. Great experience!

Overall a pretty good experience! I have rented from them twice and both times I had my vehicle in under 20 minutes, and was able to drop off in the night drop off both times, which was very helpful. The second time I rented the owner was a little late from picking up cars, but when he got in I was served immediately. I do wish there was a better communication process after the vehicle is returned though, my email is on file and I thought that the receipt would be emailed after return it was not but I did receive my text confirmation.

Under new ownership, new guy (Rick) is great. Never any problems, reasonable rates, doesn't try to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need like Hertz on 21st does.
