Sunday night on Feb. 20th, 2018 I needed to swop my rental out for another due to problem with tire. I was on my way back to Pittsburgh, PA. A fairly new employe ( Myrez Davis) was the only person there. He was very kind and understanding . He swopped  my car out after numerous apologies for my inconvenience. I just would like to personally acknowledge him for a job well done . Thank you so much.

Phone system is absolutely useless.  A simple call to ask about specific rental return times turned into pressing options that do not work, recordings that cannot be heard, and when a human actually picked up the phone you cannot speak to them as the system doesn't transfer the caller's voice.  Worst waste of time I've had the displeasure of sharing in regards to basic customer service.  This is amplified by the fact that there are numerous reviews notifying Avis of this issue, yet not a single effort to rectify it.  Thank you for nothing.

I rent cars typically every week as I travel 80-100% for work. I have to rent with AVIS due to a corporate agreement with my company and AVIS. This hasn't typically been an issue, however, this particular branch has been horribly inconsistent with delivery of vehicles and treating customers like we are a an inconvenience to them. 80% of the time, I have to return my car as it reeks of cigarette smoke. I've sometimes had to wait 30-45 minutes for another car drop off when I refuse to take a car they provide that smells so bad. 

They also consistently forget to close out receipts, which leaves me on the call with customer service trying to figure out what to do and delays my billing/reimbursement up to another 5 days. 

I have overall had a very unsatisfactory service with this company and they have become like a chronic issue I am used to while assigned to a project here in Birmingham due to corporate agreements. I would highly advise you stay away from this and utilize Enterprise or Hertz while in BHAM. I hope senior management addresses this issue quickly and works to win their frequent renters back.

Rental counter is extremely understaffed with just one agent and long waits. I had an issue for which  I needed to contact local office. Could not hear or understand agent. (I understand through several other reviews this is common). I had to drive down to local office again to resolve.
