I purchased a range and microwave last year with the Geek Squad protection plan. The microwave is acting up. I called appliances and was told that the protection plan only covered the range (THAT was not told to us when we purchased) and was passed to Geek Squad. They answered, talked to me for about a minute and told me I needed to talk to appliances. I told them I had JUST talked to them. He said sorry, he couldn't help and tried hanging up. Whole conversation lasted less than 2 minutes. I told him, politely, that our washer had broken and I WAS on my way to Best Buy to purchase a new one but that I would NEVER buy from Best Buy again or purchase the Geek Squad plan because it was worthless. He said, "Okay" and hung up.

This is a good Best Buy store, and we do shop here often. The staff was helpful and even went to find a product we were looking for. When we spent time to find the laptop we wanted, the employee said that it was not in stock even though it was being offered for sale. The answer was that “it was a popular product on Black Friday” which was literally weeks ago. They can’t stock a product they have for sale? Or at least remove it if it’s not available. Or put a sign on it that says it’s out of stock. We bought other items but the laptop for sale that was not available was frustrating and preventable.

I have never had an exceptional experience visiting Best Buy. They have too many people who don't know enough about what they're doing. I have found the information I have received to be inadequate or informative in many aspects. I am a best buy card member and wanted to purchase a new Canon lens that was $1,700 but lived 45 minutes away. The person at Best Buy Tyler would not hold for me and was basically telling me to try my luck to get it before someone else does. When we arrived the guys had no idea where to find camera lenses and was looking for it on a hanging peg. I told them it would be an item that was secured usually under the cameras. He looked and found the lens, but it's disheartening to know that Best Buy sets themselves up for failure to not properly train their associates.

After only a few months of purchase my life proof box is cracked. I went in to the store and immediately got sent to another counter. They told me that since I didn’t sign up to receive their emails that they could not look up my transactions. I purchased a phone for more than $1000 and a box and $8 per month warranty that they charge me. So, because I refused to sign up for their rewards program and subscribe to their spam they refuse to help me seek information on my purchase.

I recently went in and bought a new tablet. Must say the person who helped me was fantastic! He helped me navigate through the choices and helped me pick the best one suited for me which was not the most expensive one. This best buy has gotten much better, finally hiring some quality people.
